  “My friend ordered a burger and loved it. I ordered rump stake and got the 2 tiniest bits of off cut dog meet, joined by more grizzle than meat in the middle, I could've imagined, Gutted! Never seen that cut before but 100% it wasn't rump!!! Asked for medium to rare, got well done. Had better fries boiled from Iceland . Cosy little gaff but will never order food there again, PROMISE! Got a Canadian charcoal pit on the way home so I could taste some meat and compensate for the nights world war 2 rations!!”

  “From start to finish amazing experience. From the start we was greeted by the friendliest staff I think I’ve come across in the food industry. The quality of the food was amazing tasted incredible. The value for money you get here is also amazing me and my mrs had a starter a main each and also a desert and it came to less than £80. Platform 1 truly incredible thankyou for having us.”

  “Came to try the food as we had heard lots of people say how nice it was and was met with disappointment. Ordered a steak sandwich with peppercorn sauce and was possibly one of the driest things I have ever eaten. The steak was just fat and the “sauce” they may as well have just put peppercorns in the sandwich. Also ordered a kids meal macaroni cheese which came in a cast iron pot that was placed straight in front of my 1 year old and the girl that gave us the food said to my child that it was hot like he was going to understand. That was disappointing too as it resembled no form of cheese and was swimming in what tasted like old oil and never received the ice cream meant to come with the meal. Extremely disappointed will not be returning charging ridiculous amounts for poor food when cheaper and better options elsewhere.”

  “Called today to try the new Sunday dinner sharer. Food was lovely, all fresh ingredients. We left full and satisfied. The staff are very welcoming and professional. This has now become a lovely place to visit again in the village. We will definitely be returning for the Sunday dinner.”

  “Platform One is a hidden gem for those visiting or living in and around Romiley and the greater Manchester area. Without a doubt some of the best quality food I’ve eaten from a pub in a long while! The staff are incredible and the value for money is an understatement for the quality of food and customer service that’s provided! The pub has a great selection of drinks, food and entertainment. Live music is frequently planned for those who aren’t just looking for the ideal food/drink spot! So plenty of reasons to visit. Overall I cannot recommend this spot enough, I’m not local myself but I will definitely be making the effort to return as soon as possible!”

  “4 of us just had Sunday lunch, absolutely delicious. It was the nicest meal out I've had in a long time. Not the cheapest Sunday roast but definitely the nicest. The staff were all really nice too. 4 roast chicken dinners with an extra side of cauliflower cheese and 2 drinks each,,,£118 We'll definitely be returning”

  “Local place for a bunch of us girls to meet up… not eaten here before, so thought we’d give it a try… can’t fault the service, and although there is currently a limited menu, what we ordered was good food. … you get what you pay for… we’d definitely book again!”

  “Decided to jump off the bus in Romily where Flic spotted this pub serving two real ales. Taylor's and Weetwood. Had the Weetwood, very good. Small side beer garden and a good interior over two floors. A pub food destination with reasonable pricing. Ladies easy to find, Gents not so easy. Odd atmosphere when wandering about. Warm Peroni according to Flic.”

  “What a beautiful public house. This place was once our local before we started travelling. It’s so warm, welcoming and friendly. Food is always amazing, with an introduction to a dog friendly area. Absolutely love this place. Come and see for yourself.”
