About Arden Arms
Arden Arms is a pub in Stockport, at 23 Millgate, set in an old marketplace building with real fires and polished wood furniture. A small secret room sits behind the bar, and a snug is also on site. The kitchen serves ales with lunch, plus dinner on some nights. Steak and ale pie comes with chips, peas and gravy, fish and chips is on the menu, and Sunday brings roast beef and roast pork. Staff can advise on ingredients for coeliac and dairy-free diners when a table is booked ahead. A private dining room suits groups, and the pub hosts functions and parties. Dogs are welcome, and live bands play in the courtyard.

Customer Review Summary
Steak and ale pie is the dish reviewers name most, served with chips, peas and gravy, and one calls the steak pie a class choice. Close behind are the roast dinners, a Sunday roast beef described as beautifully presented and a roast pork that melted in the mouth, followed by fish and chips and a Caesar salad. The beer is described as always in good nick, with plenty of choice. Reviewers also single out the outdoor area and beer garden, the real fire, the history and character of the pub, and the little room behind the bar. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and helpful. Live bands in the courtyard are what one reviewer plans to return for, and another held a 70th birthday party there. One coeliac and dairy intolerant diner booked ahead and found a server knew the ingredients in every dish, which led to a gluten and dairy free chicken supreme with roasties and veg.

“Nice local pub in the heart of Stockport. Sunny beer garden. Decent beer”

“We had a great time with parents and their friends visiting from Australia. The food has always been delicious and plentiful and we all enjoyed various dishes including Steak and Ale pie and chips, Fish and chips and my favourite Ceasar salad. They serve a good range of drinks and the quirkiness and history of the pub is what really sets it apart from many of its counterparts. All the staff are lovely and helpful, but a special mention goes to Nicole who was fabulous, friendly and very knowledgeable - she has some very interesting photos of the basement of the pub too !! We will be back soon to watch one of the many live bands who play in the courtyard. It's not really hidden, but it's definitely a gem.”

“Bobbed in this afternoon for a pint and something to eat. I'd not been in for maybe a decade and it hasn't changed. Super friendly and cosy inside, with a fabulous outdoor area too. Much recommended.”

“I like this place. The food is great value - solid pub fare at a reasonable price. Beer is always in good nick. And if you can get a seat in the secret little room behind the bar it's a cool experience!”

“We never had food, but it did look amazing. Great, polite staff. I especially love the room at the back of the bar.”
