About Hare & Hounds Inn
Hare & Hounds Inn is a traditional country pub in Hyde, on Werneth Low Rd at the top of Werneth Low. Dogs get a menu of their own here, which includes a 4oz steak. The eating area combines a restaurant and a bar, and the views look out over Manchester. On the food side, the kitchen serves a whipped goats cheese starter and a rib beef dinner, and a three-course Christmas Dinner is on offer. The pub opens daily. A footpath opposite leads onto the Tameside Trail, so walkers can set out from the door.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the views over Manchester from this country pub, with the outdoor seating and the sunset opposite drawing praise, and one says the cost is worth it next to a good window. Food comes close behind. The whipped goats cheese starter leaves a vegetarian reviewer wanting more, and a Christmas dinner is called delicious across all three courses. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and helpful, with several diners saying their servers went above and beyond. The complaints centre on value and pace. One reviewer found the rib beef dinner tasty and hot but small, waited a long gap between courses, and had to go to the bar for drinks because nobody asked. Another calls the alcohol pricey for what is sold elsewhere. That same reviewer wished the dog menu were easier to spot, while another diner's dachshund loved the 4oz steak served on it.

“Amazing views! Really pricey for alcohol you could find elsewhere. No dog menu which was slightly disappointing, but not to be expected. Once again though truly amazing views the price is worth it if you sit next to a good window. *Edit* Thanks for the speedy response! Great customer service. I planned to give 4 stars originally, apologies for 3 star misclick. Dog menu could be a separate maybe laminated sheet for easy access with regular menus (would’ve 100% ordered from it on my last visit if I’d of seen it properly!)”
