About The Oakley Arms
The Oakley Arms is a pub on Kiddemore Green Rd in Stafford, part of the Brunning & Price group and set in a countryside village. Lake views reach many of its rooms, and a stone terrace beside the lake gives diners a place to eat overlooking the water. Inside, tables are spaced well apart and a real fire burns, with a large seating area and a separate bar area. The menu is modern British, with chorizo among the starters and fish and chips among the mains. A chicken pie is available gluten-free. A private dining room serves groups, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Pie is the dish reviewers praise most, called the hero of one meal, while a gluten-free chicken pie was a real treat for one diner's wife. Close behind are fish and chips with light, crisp batter, the belly pork, the lamb shoulder and a sirloin steak one reviewer ranks among the best they have had. Several also like the lake and pond views from the outdoor seating, tables spaced well apart, and a real fire, and describe the staff as friendly and welcoming. The main complaints come from one detailed review: a mushroom stroganoff that tasted mainly of vinegar with barely any mushroom, a tiny portion, average crispy squid, and a crunchy beef salad with tough, chewy beef. Others mention slow food on a quiet day, a new bar server making drink orders drag, a smaller venison portion and prices at the upper end.

“Had a lovely meal out with friends. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good, a little slow considering they were not that busy. Good selection on the menu, I had the belly pork which was excellent, my wife had fish and chips which she said was amazing. One of our friends, who took us there had the pie and the other had a the fish dish. Great value for money and as I said great team. We ate inside the restaurant which was quite warm, no air-con on or present. Would I go again? Absolutely yes and I recommend you go and try it out yourselves. The outside location with the lake is excellent”

“Visited on a hot summers day and sat outside in a lovely village pub garden. Everything would have been 5 stars except the bar server was new and had no-one as a tutor/mentor so it took nearly 10 minutes to order 2 drinks and 2 small meals. This next part is partly my fault, ordered 1 starter and 1 light bite but forgot to say (wasn't asked) about coming out together. Towards the top end of the scale for being expensive. Will go again as overall very nice.”

“We came across this gem in the countryside and we were stunned by it's surroundings. We only had drinks, however there's a large seating area inside and patio outside, it has a big pond in its grounds which you can sit and overlook”

“I have eaten here a few times and always been satisfied with every detail. Beautiful setting, great atmosphere, first class choice of drinks and bar staff. The food was very tasty and well laid out. Our waitress Julie made a lovely day , even better. Many thanks Julie from the table of 5 people on Sunday at 3 o’clock.”

“Absolutely beautiful Mother’s Day service. Food was delicious, staff were accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Ang was our lovely waitress and she went above and beyond. Couldn’t have had a better experience for my mom and I. Thank you!!”

“The Oakley Arms sits on the outskirts of Brewood but is a pub well within the hearts of the locals who drop by on horseback or bicycle or along with their dogs during country rambles. We are lucky enough to have the most fabulous lake which can be seen from many rooms within the pub and is flanked by our stone terrace which is the most wonderful place to dine on sunny days. We like to think of ourselves as a charming pub with well-spaced rooms with wooden floors and roaring fires, a well-stocked bar at the centre of all things and a beautiful garden room filled with light. Our menus have their roots in modern British cooking, with a hint of the more exotic about them.”
