About Maple Restaurant (Sanderstead)
Maple Restaurant (Sanderstead) is a modern European restaurant in South Croydon, set in a restored former bank at 29-31 Limpsfield Rd. The day runs from morning coffee and pastries through brunch and lunch to evening dining, with a bar for cocktails. A supper club serves 5-course tasting menus themed around a geographic cuisine, with South America and India among the themes, which gives diners a set evening built around one region. Sunday roast comes with bottomless crispy roast potatoes, and a homemade mushroom and chestnut pie is the vegetarian roast option. Corn Ribs appear as a starter. A private room is available for hire for groups marking events such as baby showers and birthdays, and it comes with a projector. Dogs are welcome. Afternoon tea is served with sandwiches and scones.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Sunday roast, singling out the crispy, bottomless roast potatoes, with one calling them the best they've had and another adding extra with gravy. Close behind are the private room and group occasions, where diners describe a baby shower with afternoon tea, sandwiches and scones, and a milestone birthday, both handled smoothly by friendly staff. The corn ribs starter, chicken Caesar salad, steak at one table and a five course supper club tasting menu also draw praise, and several say the service was attentive and friendly. The caveats are specific. One reviewer found the ribeye poor and not a typical cut, with lacklustre flavour, though the truffle chips were perfectly cooked. Another said the fish and salad portion was smaller than expected, and a vegetarian diner noted the mushroom and chestnut pie option was reduced on a return visit. One reviewer advises making bookings because the roast got very busy.

“This is a great place for a Sunday roast lunch. The dishes were mouth watering with perfectly cooked meats and vegetables. The roast potatoes were the best I've ever had, I even had extra with gravy. The staff were amazing, friendly and really looked after us. I'll be sure to leave space for dessert next time! Be sure to make bookings as it got very busy.”

“Been here a couple times for their 'supper club'; a 5 course tasting menu themed around a geographic cuisine (South America, India). Both times service very attentive and friendly. Food great. Quite reasonably priced for the quantity and quality you get.”

“We hosted my sister’s baby shower in the private room at Maple and opted for the afternoon tea menu. We had a fantastic time! The team at Maple made the planning and organisation process so seamless. They beautifully decorated the room, and we were even able to use the projector provided to play games and music. The staff were lovely and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran perfectly. The service was incredible, and the afternoon tea itself was amazing — the sandwiches and scones were delicious, and everyone left feeling full and satisfied. I would definitely recommend Maple for any private event or large booking. Thank you for making my sister’s baby shower so memorable and special!”
