About Galicia
Galicia is a Galician restaurant and tapas bar in Croydon, set in a room tiled in blue and white at 269-275 High St. The menu runs to 137 dishes, so a table can build a meal from small plates and share them. Fried Baby Squid, Octopus In Garlic and Grill Chistorra sit among the tapas, while paella and steak and fries cover the larger plates. A set deal pairs two tapas with a soft drink, which gives a smaller group a ready-made order. The drinks list includes Spanish sangria and cocktails.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the octopus, with one calling it the star of the show when paired with rice and another naming it a longtime favourite dish. Close behind are the tapas, including gambas picante with bread to dip, chorizo cooked in white wine, and a paella and steak with fries on one table. Several mention hefty portions, and one group took a doggy bag home. Servers draw repeated praise as friendly, attentive and funny, with one recommending tapas and drinks and another pointing a fan toward a table during a heatwave. A large group was handled well, and a few say the meal felt like being in Spain. The one criticism comes from a reviewer who found the food not bad but the Spanish sangria lacking wine. A longtime visitor of over 16 years says the restaurant never disappoints, and a pair came for a tapas and soft drink deal and found four dishes between them was plenty.

“Food here was delicious - especially the chorizo cooked in white wine. They handled a large group of us incredibly well and got everything right. The service was friendly and fun and food/drinks were great. I would return!”

“Luz was our server and was so attentive. She recommended our tapas dishes and we had an amazing meal. She also recommend drinks to us and it felt like we were having an authentic meal abroad. The gambas picante was lovely and the bread to dip in made it even better. The octopus was the star of the show, paired with the rice was just perfect. Highly recommend and will be back again!!”

“My friend and I went yesterday to make the most of their "two tapas and a soft drink" for £14.95, and we had a great time! The staff were super attentive and friendly, and even pointed a fan towards us (which we're very thankful for in this heatwave)! Despite being tapas, the portions were hefty and four between us to share was definitely enough. We'd love to come again to try their non-tapas dishes!! :-)”

“If I could give our servers 100 stars I would, Luce (apologies if I’ve spelt your name wrong!) you were amazing and the highlight of our dinner - we have never had such amazing service - you have amazing taste in cocktails. The food was amazing and the portion sizes were well worth the price and the service elevated me and my boyfriend’s experience to another level. We will be coming back again!”
