Customer Review Summary
Complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer says a cheese and onion baguette and cheesy chips cost far more than expected because they were ordered off the menu, and another calls prices a bit high for a sandwich. One reviewer reports a rude exchange over toilet access, and another wants better service manner from the younger staff. A prawn sandwich was described as tasting alright, with sauce leaking onto the plate and the outside of the bread. One reviewer advises asking for prices first.

“The staffs attitude in here absolutely stunk, there was no respect whatsoever, I asked if I could use there toilet, and the young women shouted saying “it’s through the staff door” with disgusting attitude. Then she later said to me, “if you need the toilet again, you best go now” and the old women in there was just so blunt and corrupted. I don’t recommend this cafe at all, there’s 0 respect.”

“Lovely food, especially the BBQ Chicken Melt. Prices are fine, you can spend more in McDonald's for less filling food. The staff are extremely nice and service was very prompt. Whenever we're back in Skegness, we'll be visiting here again.”

“Went into the cottage loaf for a cheese and onion roll. Tables and overall appearance is clean tidy and respectable. It was nice to see a cafe run by older people. My wife ordered a bacon and mushroom melt baguette and Pepsi max, I ordered cheese and onion baguette (came with crisps and a small side salad) my daughter wanted cheesy chips, which all though wasn't on the menu was not an issue. Food came and was very well presented. We then got the bill and nearly had to apply for a second mortgage. Yes the prices are on the menu but if you go of the menu the prices go though thr roof. A cheese and onion baguette was 9.45!!!!! Cheesy Chips £8.00 a normal bowl of chips is 3.70. When I questioned the bill the lady at the counter explained that we had a Cheesy chip meal not a side order and that's how much. I had said that we were not told of the price to which I got back you didn't ask fair enough point taken, but I also didn't expect to pay 4.30 for a little bit of cheese. As I was leaving I heard the lady say "How Rude!!" Sorry for questioning why you are riping me off. Moral of the story ask for prices.”

“Ordered a prawn in sauce sandwich, which was served with a small side salad and some crisps. It tasted alright, but the sauce had gone onto the plate, so it had gone onto the outside of the bread. Cup of tea was refreshing - that's Yorkshire tea for you. Service was very efficient and the staff were friendly. Prices were a bit up there just for a sandwich, but that might be normal now for seaside places.”
