Quick info
About The Good Breakfast
The Good Breakfast serves breakfast at Woodall motorway services on the M1 southbound, sharing its space with Chopstix, which takes over the same counter later in the day. The morning menu runs to four dishes, with the Full English Breakfast as the main draw alongside a breakfast sandwich or roll, bacon, sausage, and black pudding, and eggs cooked to order. The setup suits travellers stopping on the M1 rather than a sit-down destination meal. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance serves visitors with mobility needs. It opens daily, and reservations are recommended given the shared morning slot before the counter switches over to Chopstix.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often mention the traditional or full English breakfast, several praising eggs cooked to order and a breakfast sandwich that one diner called excellent, alongside a proper Yorkshire tea. Staff friendliness comes up repeatedly too, with servers described as bright, bubbly, friendly and accommodating of substitutions like an extra hash brown. Price is a recurring sore point, with reviewers calling out charges such as 4.49 for a small sandwich and two rashers of bacon, or 7 pounds for a sandwich that arrived unbuttered. Quality also swings hard for some visitors, with complaints of overcooked black pudding, rock hard bacon and a breakfast roll one reviewer called the worst they'd ever eaten. One diner also reports being refused a breakfast unless a drink was purchased due to a till issue. Despite the criticism, several say they'd stop again on the M1.
