  “Fishcakes don't bother, thay was so little fish you would need a magifieing glass to find it, potato was ok it was mostly batter and very thick and dark brown. The chips tasted like thay had been cooked earlier and then reheated for service. The kid's had sausages omg thay was so horrible thay both had one bite and said could thay leave them i did have a little bite we even tried dipping them in the curry sauce but that was so lumpy and gluepy. A word to the staff at Admiral 5 is get your act together. This isn't a fish and chip shop. It's a disgrace. We only pop in as we was in the area more fool us. Will never go agin. 🤮”

  “Food is good, prices are steep for what you get. The service always seems flat! This time, I had a lovely lady serve me, however the fryer didn't crack a smile once. I've had this a few times from different people.”

  “Just been to the admiral in Brighton and nothing only chips and sausages. When I got home the chips ended up in the bin wouldn’t have given them to a dog so ended up paying £9 for a sausage”

  “Friendly young lady served me, got home and the fish cake was swimming in grease. Potato was still stiff. Cooked for to long in fat that was not hot enough. The jumbo sausage which accompanied the fish cake was as pale as I have ever seen. Nice people who work there but are destroying a great British tradition. Shameful.”

  “Recently not to bad in terms of quality however massively over priced for what you get, large sausage special is what I would consider a very small portion of chips and the batter is always dry dry so would avoid Anything battered. …”

  “Another delicious dinner tonight! Had been going elsewhere until recently, but pleased to be back buying fish and chips from our local. Good size cod was fresh and succulent, generous portions of chips well cooked, nice and crispy without being overcooked and certainly not soggy! Staff this evening were friendly and polite, service with a smile :)”

  “Massive huge portions of chips in the Chip Butties and the bread cakes are enormous too ! We got two small ones and it would have easily of fed 3 people. The chips were ok if a little overcooked but tasty all the same.”

  “Absolutely awful fish and chips, definitely warmed up,and batter tasted bitter old oil...so don't know why we had to wait 10 minutes for warmed up food... very very greasy”

  “You would think that purchasing fish and chips at 5pm would mean that they were hot and freshly cooked for the tea time trade. No, the fish had dark rubbery batter as if yesterdays re cooked and the chips were barely warm. A real disappointment . Hopefully when the new Papas fish and chip shop opens it will provide enough competition to make the Admiral up their game. I gave two stars because the portion sizes were decent which was possibly a negative given that they were of such poor quality.”
