  “Overcooked Yorkshire cakes, potato was thick and fish minimal, batter was overcooked. Chips extremely greasy. Would not go back”

  “Been a few weeks since ordering and I'm not sure what's happened. The small fish is no bigger than a jumbo fishfinger and even the large fish is smaller than previously. Equally the large chips is a smaller portion and the large peas and curry sauce must have been given by mistake in a small pot as they didn't feed 2. The odd chip was hard in the middle. Really disappointed for £31”

  “There's some weird-ass negative reviews that definitely don't represent, what is arguably the best chip shop in the area. I've been a regular weekly customer for about 10yrs and never had anything other than great food & service. Consistently high quality and always friendly, welcoming service from Alex and the team.   “Poor experience all round. Wait times were horrendous, forgot part of our order (sausages) which ruined my kids tea and the large cod was soggy and drastically undercooked. Wasn’t any point in going back for the sausages as the rest of the food would have gone cold. Won’t be going back!”

  “Absolutely disgusting. The chips and fish were tasteless. The mushy peas had never been mushy very watery, rock hard and stone cold. Will not be recommending or revisiting.”

  “Really good sized portions chips are the best I've had . Homemade fishcake are nice as well friendly service quick and easy on line order . Small chips are enough for 2 people easily. Highly recommended”

  “Probably the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time. Didn't fancy a large fish, so I picked up a small fish meal with curry sauce. Loved every mouthful. Waited a while, but it was worth it. Highly recommend.”

  “Never had a bad chippy tea from here. Really good chips, crisp outside and fluffy potatoe inside. Fish always tastes fresh, battered sausages are very good and the curry sauce is one of my favourites. I'm moving out of the village in the next few months and will deeply miss this place.”
