Customer Review Summary

Homemade cakes draw the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly singling out gluten-free options like the carrot cake and sticky toffee pudding alongside chocolate scones and blueberry scones. Close behind, the breakfast and lunch menu earns steady approval, with several noting easy adaptation for gluten-free and vegetarian diets and knowledgeable staff on allergens. Friendly, welcoming service comes up again and again across visits spanning years. That said, value is a recurring sore point: two reviewers call the food overpriced for the quality, one citing a small apple juice priced around £2.80. One reviewer also describes the children's meal arriving too hot and staff seeming inattentive toward a toddler, concluding the restaurant felt less suited to families than to child-free groups. Afternoon tea requires advance booking with a deposit, as one reviewer notes.

Food was lovely but rather expensive for what it was. Unfortunately didn’t find the staff to be very accommodating for a young toddler - the children’s meal was brought out extremely hot, so the toddler had to wait whilst I took the food outside to cool down. Surely children’s meals should be cooked first so they’re starting to cool? Unfortunately I also found the waitress to be ignorant to the toddler when placing hot drinks & food right in front of them. Location is obviously lovely. This restaurant isn’t ideal for families, but the child-free groups looked to have a great time.

Excellent service, beautiful surroundings, choice of food and drink options is excellent - for breakfast, light bite or lunch. Gluten free and vegetarian options are excellent and almost anything can be adapted. Been coming here for many years and never a bad experience. Thank you

Our favourite place to come for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee! You can tell that everything is made with care, and great pride is taken even down to the smallest detail. The staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable - would highly recommend a visit.

Great service and the cafe was lovely (if a little too warm) but food well overpriced for the quality and tiny glass of apple juice was something like £2.80. Sadly won’t be returning.

Friends meeting for an overdue chit chat at 10:30. We all enjoyed our choices and went home with a chocolate scone each. Parking is good and we'll return soon
