  “Not an exaggeration, this was hands down the BEST fash n chaps 👏 Partners chicken boiger was spot on chips where fluffy and the fish was sublime, not too greasy if any at all and crispy batter. Portion size were large and in charge, will definitely come back.”

  “Famous fish whilst you attempted to rectify a family meal that was ruined, I can’t justify giving you a good review. Our evening was ruined with bad service and food that was cold and stale. We were a family of 13, we have been to your restaurant before and we have had a good experience. I honestly have no idea what happened this time but we had such a disappointing experience. We arrived early evening and sat upstairs. There were only two other tables so it was not busy in the upstairs area. The brunette waitress who served us was abrupt and rude through the ordering and drinks service. She didn’t introduce herself or behave in a friendly manner. Scarborough is a tourist town and this is just not the impression I believe your establishment wants to give. This waitress proceeded to give Pepsi Max to everyone when we ordered Pepsi. She even slammed one of the Pepsi’s down in front of my mother. My mother had ordered water. Our food arrived cold, overcooked and the chips looked stale. We all instantly said this is unacceptable. The plates were removed immediately (the staff acknowledged it and seemed distressed about the kitchen quality and one waitress even said not her fault as she doesn’t cook the food) and the food was redone apart from the pie and chips meal, which was clearly left on hotplate whilst the other meals were rectified. IF we had not been instructed to prepay for our meal I can assure you we would have paid for our drinks and left as we had no faith. There was one blonde waitress who did her best (she may have been in charge that eve) to rectify things and I do want to thank her. She asked multiple times if we needed anything and did offer and provide a free round of drinks to us. I really hope this does not happen to anyone in the future as spending a significant amount of money and feeling frustrated and disappointed whilst receiving poor service (brunette waitress - you know this is for you) is just not fair.”

  “This is by far our favourite fish and chips in Sacrborough been to the competition in the past and this is our second visit and if the quality of service and food stays the same will be returning evertime we come back. Thank you for a lovely lunch”

  “Lots of chips left that were inedible. Tasted like they had been reheated through the fryer too. Sausage wasnt the best Ive had. The beans were ok though. Can see why they ask you to pay before you get your food”

  “Proper traditional Fish & Chips - tasty, served with a smile, great Yorkshire Tea and nothing over complicated. Window seat upstairs is my favourite, but sitting anywhere is light and cool.”

  “We dined in, and were served by Sara who was amazing, we had fish and chips twice with a drink, side and a hot drink of our choice - and I can honestly say that’s one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Very reasonably priced - will definitely come back 😋”

  “A cozy and delicious fish&chip restaurant. We ordered a fish&chip set with tea-break meal, which included fried haddock, chips, gravy/curry, bread slices and tea for 2 people. The proportion is huge, the fish was so fresh and had a crispy coating (very fresh compared to another restaurant we tried fish&chip there), and the tea was hot and we enjoyed it so much. The total is £14.95 and the atmosphere was amazing. The waiter is really nice and friendly but we had to wait for a bit to get ordered since they were so busy on the second floor that they didn’t check the first floor 😅 (we dined on the first floor). The restaurant has two floors, first floor gives off a more fresh&clean vibe like the ocean while second floor is packed and cozy with families dining there. There is also a separate area to order for takeaway if you don’t want to dine in. Overall, as tourists, we had an amazing experience, with affordable and delicious fish&chip. Give it a try if you have a chance visiting Scarborough 😉. And we’ve met an extremely cute dog there as well 😍”

  “Food was great, fresh tasted and value for money. Place was clean staff, was incredible, considering, this waitress, all on her own ,did everything. She went apart and down the stairs ,dealt with amazingly stupid customers. How she kept her cool, was beyond me. Any way, she had everything undercontrol, managed it all without any problems. My heart goes out to her. The meal ,special fish and chips, was very nice. But too much for me. Yeah, big portions, and hot, so we'll done”

  “Absolutely outstanding fish and chips. Huge portions, lovely fresh fish and the foot long batter sausage was amazing … and quite possibly the best chips we’ve ever had! Very friendly service too. Will absolutely visit again next time we’re in Scarborough”
