About Kam Sang
Kam Sang is a Cantonese restaurant in Scarborough, at 1-3 N Marine Rd near North Breach. It keeps separate British and Chinese menus alongside its traditional Cantonese cooking, so each person at a table can order from whichever list suits them. The restaurant opens daily and serves evenings only. Saturday night can get busy.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return to Kam Sang mainly for authentic Cantonese cooking, praising food that is perfectly seasoned and not greasy. Specifics include the chicken and corn soup, the beef in black pepper sauce, half a crispy duck, and the sizzling plate dishes. One diner from London says the taste beat most Cantonese restaurants there, and another valued the separate Chinese and British menus. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and the dining room is described as spotlessly clean, relaxed and comfortable. Portions are called generous, with one reviewer saying they were full to bursting, though another found most dishes average, small and overpriced. Service pace draws mixed comments: one party waited and had to find a staff member to order, and another said food took a little long on a busy Saturday, while a third got a takeaway ready quickly. One group of international students describes an older bartender as rude to them but polite to other tables. One reviewer wished the fish had bones, and a takeaway customer noted the lack of free prawn crackers.

“We picked Kam Sang restaurant out of the blue as we were hungry when we arrived in Scarborough. This comes with a warning…DO NOT GO TO SCARBOROUGH WITHOUT PAYING THEM A VISIT!! Spotlessly clean, lovely relaxing atmosphere, helpful and very friendly staff with a menu to die for. The food is the absolute best we have ever eaten and we eat a lot of Chinese food. Perfectly seasoned, not at all greasy, enough for two large plates of food each from the portions we got. All we can say is definitely call here you will not be disappointed and you’ll be full to bursting by the time you have come out. Thank you to you all at Kam Sang for the amazing surroundings, friendly service and of course the amazing food. Would have absolutely given them ten stars if we could have. Just beautiful. Keep up the good work.”

“Ordered takeaway whilst on holiday here. 10 minutes from ordering to collect. Food was really good and tasty. Only downside was no free prawn crackers but didn’t takeaway from the delicious meal. Would recommend”

“The food was good but you will find most of the dishes average, small portion and, overpriced. One old guy(I think he’s a bartender) there was very rude to our group but he was very polite to other table. I don’t know if it’s because we are international students. But all the other staffs were friendly.”

“Came here for an early evening meal with my family. There were a lot of people already there which was a good sign. We ordered half a crispy duck and then 2 main courses between 3 of us along with drink each The quality and quantity of the food and drink was very good and the whole experience good. It was also pretty good value @£25 per person. Recommend”
