About The Salmon of Knowledge
The Salmon of Knowledge is an Irish pub in Salford, on Dock House, with dockyard-style decor of wooden beams and girders. Window seats look out over the Blue Peter garden and the Imperial War Museum, so groups and couples can settle in with a view of both. Inside, booths with rustic tables and sofas are set apart from the bar, which carries a selection of beers and cocktails. Screens show live football, and the pub schedules regular live music. Reservations are taken for large groups. The pub is near Media City, with a tram stop close by and no parking on site.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the outdoor space, a beer garden and terrace with a view of the Blue Peter garden, along with a good selection of beers at the bar. Several describe quick service from plenty of bar staff, and one mentions the dockyard feel of wooden beams and girders, with booths and sofas inside. Food comes up less often, with a burger meal and tasty cocktails singled out while watching football, and one reviewer notes the toilets are now new and spacious. The complaints are sharp, though. Two reviewers describe match and late-evening trouble: one was refused re-entry from the beer garden during the England game because of a capacity queue, despite holding a drink and needing the toilet, and another was told the terrace had little time left before staff wanted to go home, with drinks poured into plastic glasses. A third found the food average and overpriced, with disinterested staff who switched the screens to loud football commentary over the music.

“Didn't order food so didn't rate that. This place is large with plenty of outdoor seating. I included pictures of the toilet because when this place was the dockyard the toilet was dark and the doors lock didn't work. It's now new clean and spacious. They take reservations if you are visiting in a large group, have regular live music. You can buy merchandise if you like and they have regular live music. Nice place.”

“Knowledge is a stretch… Zero customer satisfaction, rude staff. Being told with the 20 something other customers outside at 10pm (it’s the middle of summer) “you’ve got 15 minutes because we’re dead inside” then demanding your customers drinks have to be poured into plastic glasses as “my staff wanna go home” is not an experienced way of telling people you all frankly can’t be bothered. being challenged by the management “have you ever worked in hospitality?!” “I can have you thrown out” when collectively we have over 30 years of experience in bars, restaurants and silver service - is plain rude and incompetence. If this is how your management react and behave toward regular customers (and media city residents)- then I have little hope for how the rest of the staff are trained to deal with paying guests who were otherwise having a lovely time on the terrace outside, that’s now frankly been ruined.”
