Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Sunday and turkey roast dinners and the friendly staff, with several describing the food as delicious or excellent. One praises the turkey roast dinner and the easy ordering on the app, another the Christmas fayre menu, which offered gluten free and vegetarian options for adults and kids. A birthday party in the upstairs space ran smoothly, and guests commented on the food. Value gets mentions too, and one calls the atmosphere of a big pub a draw. Service is the main complaint. Reviewers describe waits for food, a short-staffed evening where most starters had run out, and a missing chef with no backup, which left some tables without a dish. One reviewer's beef roast arrived with hard, undercooked potatoes and parsnips, dry chewy beef and a flat, greasy Yorkshire pudding, after a wait to be seated and a flat Coke. Another was disappointed there were no pigs in blankets. Even so, one visitor asked for extra gravy and mint sauce and the waitress happily brought both.

“It was sad that a chef was sick and they dont employ a backup member. The Service did suffer more with other people missing a dish or unhappy with the delay. The positives are we didn't mind the wait so much. The poor staff did have to take a bit of attitude and were very polite and friendly. The food is cooked to a very good standard so I left with a big belly and happy with what I ate. The prices are good too! Love the atmosphere of a big pub and this one didn't disappoint!!”

“Wow. Really accommodating for disability. Bit of a wait for the food but it was so worth it. Mains were amazing and then deserts were fabulous . Great place . Will definitely be back. Thank to you all”

“Hot summer evening, lots of people in the garden. We booked a table for 6 at 7pm, not many people eating indoors. There wasn't many servers on and we had to help ourselves to our own menu's and wait a while for the food. Most of the starters had run out. The food was OK. Jo, our server was lovely and very attentive”
