Customer Review Summary
The complaints are about the details. A vegetarian reviewer found a jacket potato with cheese and beans dry, with no butter and bland cheese, and calls vegetarian choices few. Another says breakfast drinks like hot chocolate are often unavailable, leaving only coffee, milk and tea. One reviewer calls the food average for a Wetherspoon, and others say too many tables are packed close together in the middle of the room.

“Good standard of food and ales here and it was very welcome in the hot weather that they can completely open the front. And whoever looks after the flowers at the front does a lovely job, very pretty. The only mark down on the atmosphere is the usual Weatherspoons, "pack 'em in" mentality with way too many tables packed into the middle of the room, way too close together”

“Choices for vegetarians are few. The jacket potato with cheese and beans didn't even have butter and tasted dry. I don't know what cheese they use but it didn't even have the slightest 'salty' taste. It looked good however.”

“Lively atmosphere here, depending on the crowd. If you want a lively evening at a low price this is the place to be on a weekend. Service is usually quick depends on how busy it is. Overall not bad.”

“The Pennsylvanian is our favourite Wetherspoons pub out of half a dozen we go to in the local area for lunch. It has a good atmosphere, quite calming, the food is always good, hot and brought quickly. The real ales are EXCELLENT, the manager makes really good choices. We have never been disappointed at The Pennsylvanian.”
