About Home Cottage
Home Cottage is a pub on Redstone Hill in Redhill, about a minute from the station. The building has been restored and fitted with contemporary interiors, and the kitchen cooks classic British pub food, including fish and chips and a Sunday roast. The drinks list covers local ale, cocktails and wine. Orders are placed through an app at the bar, and tables can be reserved through the website. For groups, the Starr Room is a private room that can be booked for events.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers name most, and opinions on it split sharply. One table all ordered it and called it an excellent choice, while a critical reviewer describes thick, greasy batter, dry mushy peas and bones in a supposed fillet. Elsewhere, reviewers praise friendly, attentive staff, a warm, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, with chicken sandwiches and a Sunday roast named. They also mention local ale, cocktails and wine, the beer garden and the cosy interior, and one notes thoughtful handling of food allergies. The complaints are smaller in number. The same critical reviewer reports a long wait for drinks and says kitchen staff wore no hair coverings. Another finds the ordering app not user friendly, and a third wishes some mains came with a small side of vegetables. Table reservations through the website are described as straightforward. One hockey club held its end of season awards in the Starr Room and says staff delivered quickly on every request.

“I was introduced to this restaurant in October 2025 and was so impressed, I booked it for a birthday meal with my family on 5th September this year. I, and my family, were very happy with the food, service, and staff. I was also impressed .... again, and will definitely recommend it.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Home Cottage is easily one of the best pubs in the area. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and always has a great buzz without feeling overcrowded. The staff are friendly and attentive, making everyone feel at home from the moment they walk in. The food is consistently excellent, with generous portions and plenty of choice, while the drinks selection is fantastic, whether you’re after a local ale, a cocktail, or a glass of wine. The beer garden is a real highlight, especially on sunny days, and the cosy interior makes it just as enjoyable during the colder months. Whether you’re meeting friends for drinks, enjoying a family meal, or stopping by for a Sunday roast, Home Cottage delivers every time. Great food, great service, and a brilliant atmosphere—highly recommended.”
