About Riptide Espresso & Records

Riptide Espresso & Records is a coffee shop at 2 Grand Parade on the pedestrianised high street in Poole, where coffee, food and vinyl come together under one roof, with a record room upstairs. The drinks menu includes matcha drinks such as the Caramelised Banana Matcha, and the vegan ice cream milkshakes come in Oreo and biscoff flavours, topped with whipped cream. Food centres on bagels, including an Avocado and Bacon bagel, and sourdough toasties, with vegan options on the menu. Seating on the ground floor is limited, and the record room adds more seats.

Customer Review Summary

Coffee is what reviewers return to most, with the dirty chai, a cortado and a chai latte singled out as well made and not overly sweet. Close behind are the bagels and toasties, including an avocado and bacon bagel, plus a generous serving of halloumi and vegan options. Sweet treats also draw praise: caramelised banana and cookie matchas, a honey nut crunch flapjack, a cookie munch bar, and vegan Oreo and biscoff ice cream milkshakes. Reviewers describe a cosy, relaxed space with nice music, a record room upstairs and friendly staff, even when busy. The complaints are small but specific. One found the caramel latte too milky with too little espresso, one called a brownie and iced latte pricey, and seating on the ground floor is described as limited. One visitor also received a parking fine after the payment app failed to download on two phones.

“Lovely coffee and food, including nice vegan options. Very busy but staff are always friendly. Honestly some of the best coffee in Dorset. The Avocado and Bacon bagel is delicious. Personal favourite coffee is the Dirty Chai - always get it spot on, consistently good.”
  • Skye Fitzgerald
“Amazing vegan ice cream milkshakes (my faves are Oreo and biscoff), you can even get some whipped cream on top. The music is great . The cafe itself is beautiful and has a lovely coastal vibe.”
  • Abby Shillaker
“Lovely coffee but slightly on the pricey side at almost £10 for a brownie and an ice latte. Decent drink size as well compared to other places. Would return when if the area again.”
  • Ruby M
“Great choice of unique sweet treats flavours and matchas! Tried the Caramelised Banana Matcha and Cookie Matcha, both were great, though the caramel one was definitely on the sweeter side. Also got the Honey Nut Crunch (a sweet golden syrup cornflake flapjack) and a Cookie Munch Bar (a crushed cookies, condensed milk and chocolate concoction!!). The whole place had a stunning aesthetic and a record room upstairs!!”

“A clever combination of coffee, food & vinyl, situated in the pedestrianised high street of Poole. A bustling popular shopping area, with plenty of regular and niche shops, as well as market stall traders. The Quayside is a short walk and there are some quality pubs. Plenty to do if you have arrived early to use the ferry. Plenty of parking options, but ensure that you have the appropriate parking app...we spent 20mins trying to download the app, it failed on 2 phones and we later got a fine in the post....”
