The Barn Cafe Dorset is a cafe in Poole with a private hire barn and a function room, set up for events such as weddings and birthdays. The barn has its own private bar, and a hog roast can be arranged for events through the venue's food supplier. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the breakfast and the private barn hire. One calls the breakfast wrap, filled with local sausage, bacon, hash browns and scrambled eggs, possibly the best they have eaten, while another praises the hot, fresh breakfast and a personal pot of HP Sauce. Close behind, the barn and function room host baby showers, a wedding party with a hog roast and mini cakes, and a 90th birthday afternoon tea, with guests describing the room as cosy and full of character and the staff careful with food allergies. The meat quiche, omelettes and cakes also earn praise. The main complaint is slow service when busy: one diner waited a while to get attention for a coffee, and another found a booked table unavailable and was offered an uncleaned one with crumbs. That same reviewer, ordering soup from the gluten-free menu, was served it with bread and croutons containing gluten, and a fresh bowl with gluten-free bread was brought out only after questions. Several others describe friendly staff, one noting a heated tepee outside when the barn was fully booked.

“We had our wedding party here on Saturday evening and it was an incredible night, exceeded our expectations and the venue looked beautiful! From communicating with the event organiser over a few months, to the staff on the day, everyone was extremely helpful and made it a great success. We ordered food through the venue supplier and opted for the Hog Roast and a selection of mini cakes, and really enjoyed both. For an extremely affordable venue compared to most venues, this delivered very well. We'd highly recommend it to anyone! Thank you to all the staff for such a memorable night”

“Just been to lunch with my Mum, last minute decision, even though the cafe was busy with a wedding and a baby shower! Staff were still professional and delivered a 1st class service. Special mention to Java who had everything under control. Food was also lovely.”

“Very easy to deal with. Booked the small barn for a baby shower for my wife and her friends. Added a few decorations to the room, but took no time at all as it already has such a nice feel to the room already There was barely any food left over for me which was a good sign, and the bits I did manage to salvage from the end of the day were delicious. Is on the top of the list for that kind of relaxed, but professional and nice environment kind of event. Thanks”

“Best breakfast in Dorset This place has the best breakfast I've yet had in Dorset. Lovely fresh produce, served hot and high quality ingredients. Even your own personal pot of HP Sauce. 2nd breakfast here and cannot fault it. Not had better. Add to that leaf tea and genuinely friendly and polite service, and that's why it's so popular. Lovely atmosphere in the barn. The cakes and afternoon tea are also second to none. We always have a great experience here, it's well worth the little bit extra for the quality of the food and drink. Really lovely place, thankyou.”
