Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the lamb and grill dishes, with lamb chops called divine and a half mixed grill of chops, wings, tikka and kebabs singled out alongside the nihari, served with plenty of gravy for naan dipping. Close behind are the chicken tikka with madras sauce, the keema naan, the lamb haleem, the prawn biryani and the lamb rogan josh. Several describe the cooking as authentic, with no pre-made spice mixes and each spice distinct, and food made fresh to order. The vegan and vegetarian options get praise too, including a paneer curry from a catering order. Service is repeatedly called friendly, and chefs coming out to ask whether the food was all right is mentioned. Complimentary dips also draw comment. The main caveats are cost and drinks. One diner found nearly the price of a small meal steep for popadoms, a curry, rice and naan, though others call prices reasonable. One reviewer notes no alcohol is served, so guests bring their own from the off-licence next door. A group of seven without a booking was still seated.

“I first visited about five years ago when I was in the area for an event at Olympia, and I remember the food being really good. Recently, myself and six others were looking for somewhere to eat at the last minute and decided to give it a try again, despite not having a booking. They were really accommodating and managed to fit all seven of us in, which we really appreciated. The food was excellent and, honestly, I couldn’t fault any of it. Everything was fresh, tasty and really well done. It was just as good as I remembered! Just a little note that they don’t serve alcohol, so if you fancy a drink with your meal, you’ll need to bring your own. Luckily, there’s an off-licence right next door.”

“Great food at great value. Had the half mixed grill which came with 2 chops, 2 wings, 2 chicken tikka, 1 lamb kebab, 1 chicken kebab and rice and chips for £20. Also had the nihari (£18.50) which had two big boneless lamb shank pieces and lots of gravy for naan dipping. Service was also very friendly and attentive. The waitor was happy to answer lots of questions and check in to see if anything was needed. The complimentary dips were also so tasty.”

“Fantastic indian food. Very reasonable prices. AFAQ the manager is lovely. The chefs came out to ask if the food was ok which I thought was really nice. The chicken tikka/madras sauce and the keema naan were the best I've had. I really recommend this place. The toilets are spotless. Can't wait to go back. Thank you AFAQ.”

“Having tried a few Pakistani restaurants in Tooting already, we decided to try out this place while doing a stop over. And we didn't regret it. We choosed the Lamb Haleem and Prawn biryani along with a garlic naan. Both dishes looked amazing and were delicious, as well the spice level. The service was also very friendly. This places is a must visit if you're looking for an authentic experience.”

“A solid Pakistani restaurant right on Kensington High Street. The interior is warm and inviting - a relaxed atmosphere that makes it a comfortable spot for an evening meal. We had the shared option which included kebabs and chicken pakora which were excellent, served sizzling hot. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. Good value for the area and worth a visit.”
