Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the steak, especially a rump steak in garlic butter sauce praised as cooked perfectly, though a Thursday steak night visit describes the sirloin burnt black and tough. Close behind, diners highlight the fried chicken, the crispy chicken katsu curry, and the Rag pudding with proper chips, alongside starters like the Pork Belly and Cod Mornay described as far from standard pub fare. Several reviews raise service delays, including one group that waited two hours for children's meals and another whose Sunday carvery was sent back twice for arriving lukewarm. Others report undercooked food, such as broccoli sent back still raw and a chicken nugget meal found frozen in the middle. A number of reviewers tie this inconsistency to a recent change in management, several describing the pub as different from when it was previously run, and two separate accounts describe a manager as dismissive toward guests. One reviewer also mentions flies noticed around the dining area during a steak night visit. Even so, several note staff handled the transition well, with one party's booking pushed back an hour without any issue.

“Has this pub recently changed hands? It's gone from a varied unique menu to just fixed pub grub. Only one member of staff who was ok but by not really bar staff personality. Only him there so there was always people waiting to be served. No atmosphere in this pub at all now, seriously upset as it used to be amazing . Think I also encountered the manager who made me feel as welcome as a cockroach.”

“Went for Steak Night Thursday. Really needs to improve......the place needs a good clean lots of flies buzzing about which was really off putting. The steak was burnt until black and tough we ordered Sirloin two for £50 with a bottle of wine included. Talking to others whilst their the place is going downhill fast. Such a shame as i believe its used go be really good.”
