About Peels Arms
Open mic and band nights fill the calendar at Peels Arms, a pub and family restaurant on Den Ln in Oldham, giving regulars a reason to stay on past dinner. The kitchen puts out Sunday roasts with a choice of roast beef or chicken, served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, mash, veg and a pot of gravy, and extra portions of chips can be added on the side. A children's menu runs alongside the adult food for families with young children, and the bar pours a selection of beers on tap. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance helps visitors with mobility needs get in, while outdoor seating gives the option of eating and drinking outside. Dogs are welcome. The pub opens Wednesday to Sunday and stays closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and booking ahead is recommended. TV screens around the room carry football and other sport.

Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast anchors most visits, with one party singling out a roast beef lunch as a lovely meal and planning a return, and others describing good size portions, nice presentation and hot food for both adults and children. Close behind is the refurbished pub itself, welcomed back by one regular for its fresh decor, a good selection of beers on tap and a new menu, in a building they found clean, warm and light. Staff draw repeated praise as friendly, polite and efficient, one table tipping their server for how well she looked after them. The complaints are concrete, though. One diner found a Mother's Day chicken roast meagre, rubbery chicken, two soggy roast potatoes, cold veg and too little gravy, with extra chips ordered because the children were still hungry. Another describes the interior as gloomy and cold with half the bulbs out, one reviewer reports mould and grime behind the bar, and another says the advertised entertainment start time did not hold. A few note the sports screens make quiet conversation difficult.

“They lie about when the entertainment starts, to get more pints out of you and put a mundane football match on a 14" TV you can't see as an excuse to not watch the live entertainment in time 70 mins later, avoid this pub go elsewhere. Pints £5.75”

“Everything was fine one of us got the beers in. I went to get another round and when I looked behind the bar. OMG it's absolutely disgustingly dirty all the fridges have mould on bottom the the glass doors you smell the dried lager the thick black lines around the edges of the floor especially in front of the fridges. So there was no second drink mi thanx.. my drink actually came out of the fridge, so definitely not..”

“What a great little pub. Awesome location. Decent car park. Went for Sunday Lunch. Friendly welcome by lovely Bar Staff. Roast Beef lunch for 12 quid. Cant go wrong with that! Lovely meal. Will certainly be returning to see what the Open Mic and Band nights are like.”

“Sports pub, plenty of screens but rather noisy. No place for quiet conversation. Reasonable prices for food.”

“We visited Sunday at 5pm. Beautiful food for both adults and children. Good size portions & nice presentation. Staff very polite and always available should you need anything more. And nothing was too much hassle. Definitely recommend.”
