Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers raise most, with diners praising crisp batter and chips, and a haddock and chips lunch portion described as perfect. Close behind, the haggis starter and haggis bon bons, steak pie, mussels called huge, fresh and flavourful, and a meatfeast pizza all earn praise. Reviewers repeatedly single out the terrace and balcony for views of the harbour and boats, and several mention live music, including a band with traditional Scottish dancing. Service is described as friendly, quick and helpful, and one party without a booking was accommodated on the fly. The food draws the main criticism. One reviewer found the fish a little mushy and not crisp, and another had a burnt pizza and suggested eating elsewhere and coming for the drink, music and dancing. One visitor also notes the place is dog-friendly. Several mention returning for a second day, and one diner's late dinner for three arrived within 10 minutes of ordering.

“I saw this bar and thought, we need to eat in a hurry, "This will do!". I had fish and chips and it was simply gorgeous. The batter was crisp as were the chips. My wife had a pasta dish which she loved and she wasn't feeling the best either. I have posted this video of me looking for a venue to watch the England v Argentina World Cup Semi-final game and saw this rather lonely figure in the Sports Bar. We loved sitting at the balcony tables watching the boats come and go. DOG-FRIENDLY TOO!!!”

“We were there at an off time of day, at around 2pm. The waitress and bartender were great and the food was good. I had the steak pie and it was good and good portion for a lunch item. My wife got the fish and chips and it was also a good portion but the fish was a little mushy and not crisp like most fish and chips. The net was really tasty!”

“An amazing place that I would highly recommend. Three of us came in to eat a late dinner and were immediately seated outside on the terrace with an incredible view of the harbour. Table service was great and we ordered the steak pie, fish and chips, chicken burger, haggis bon bons and brushetta. All arrived within 10 mins. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Everyone thought so! Good portion size too. The atmosphere of the place is fantastic too. We went in Thursday so they had a live band and patrons dancing traditional Scottish dances. Great evening!”

“Great atmosphere. We went to listen to some local music. Fortunately there was a ceiligh happening so atmosphere was great. Food was not. Pizza was burnt which was disappointing. Haggis, my first so i dont feel qualified to judge. Service was average. I'd say good place to go for a drink and dance or listen to music. Maybe eat elsewhere.”
