  “Not much seating space in store but if you catch it at a good time to get a table you can dine in. The fish and chips we had here was the best we have ever had hands down. We also got two sides of curry sauce and mushy peas, I would say you would only need one side to share between a few people as the pots of sides are quite big. The fish however was absolutely delicious, perfectly fried. We have had lots of fish and chips across our travels and we are from Australia where seafood is pretty high quality. We came here as a party of five and each tried fish as-well as the seafood box. 10/10 recommend.”

  “This is your best choice for fish and chips while you are in Oban. Perfectly prepared. We had the haddock and it was excellent. If you are dining with someone else, you might wish to only get one serving of chips since the offering is quite generous. No alcohol is available, however you can bring your own into the restaurant ( two places near the restaurant that sell drinks).”

  “Service was really unfriendly bordering on antagonistic. The lady apologized when I asked why that was: "Long day" and so on. Food: Fish was alright, chips not crispy, "cheesburger": probably the worst food I've ever seen. Patty still deep fried, buns horrible... see picture. Granted, you might not expect much from a burger in a fish & chips shop, but if it's on the menue it must at least be edible. There are much better places nearby.”

  “Awesome place! Really quick service. Was able to walk there and get back to the ferry in under 30 minutes. People were very nice as well. Pro tip. When they say cheeseburger, they mean deep fried, not with a bun.”

  “First went to Oban which I am from Essex. It's long journey I know! After inspection each restaurants as I decided to pick up Nories that I have haddock with chips plus bottle of water. Taste is perfect, well cooking full my belly up as did enjoyed it. Quick wee photos and put full stars. Definitely recommend this one. 10/10”

  “Nories in Oban might catch your eye with its corner location and modern look, but that’s where the positives end. The moment you walk in, the layout feels scattered and uncomfortable—your eyes don’t know where to land, and not in a good way. We ordered fish & chips and sat down to wait. When the food arrived, it was served in an open takeaway box (while dining in!), which already felt cheap. The fish looked overcooked and greasy, and when we cut into it, it crumbled apart in a thick, heavy batter. It was more oily than flavorful, and overall very disappointing. On top of that, it was expensive for what you get. The quality absolutely did not match the price tag, making it feel like a complete waste of money. As for atmosphere—there simply isn’t one. The place felt lifeless, bland, and without any warmth or character. If you’re in Oban and want a proper fish & chips experience, do yourself a favor and walk right past Nories. Just across the street and a few steps up, you’ll find Oban Fish & Chips—a far better choice with a welcoming vibe, great food, and value that actually makes sense.”
