About EE-USK
EE-USK is a fish and seafood restaurant in Oban, set at the end of North Pier overlooking the bay. Hake is a focus of the mains, and one version comes as a Hake Saag with an Indian twist. Oysters are served by the dozen. The seafood platters come in three sizes: a starter platter to share, a large main platter, and a grand platter for two, which suits groups ordering together. The restaurant has more than 25 years of experience behind it and opens daily. Tables can be reserved ahead.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the fresh seafood, led by big, fresh oysters, with the seafood platters, mussels in garlic butter and hake dishes close behind. Diners also praise the battered haddock, monkfish and homemade tartar sauce, and several call the staff friendly and professional. One reviewer describes the hake saag as having a cool Indian twist, and another notes a waitress who split a bill three ways from memory. The recurring complaint is a crowded, noisy room where service feels rushed, with a few reporting slow drinks refills, a long wait for the check, and food arriving less than hot, including the hake. One diner had a reservation made online that the restaurant could not find, though the hostess found a table. Others call the food good but standard, not special. One reviewer reports stomach trouble after a large seafood platter. Mussels were also called too salty by one diner, who still enjoyed the meal.

“Nice but noisy. Staff professional. Long delay getting check at the end. Food was standard. For the price and the other positive reviews, I had high hopes for outstanding. But it was good and was glad I went. Location was great!”

“Great place to have well cooked seafood. Staff are all very smiley and friendly which is a must for me. Prompt service and food. Lovely monk fish. Extra home made tartar sauce. Great pinot noir. All in all, a fab place.”

“It’s an alright seafood restaurant. The fishes are fresh and good. But the dishes themselves are not super impressive or anything special. Don’t get me wrong it’s tasty but just not something that’s blow your mind tasty. It’s also a fairly busy restaurant and service feels a bit rush. Not sure if I would go there again even if I visit Oban again. Oysters in August are big and fresh.”

“Food is excellent! Menu is well presented and rich. Lovely waitresses although it was slow on Friday night and the second round of drinks were very delayed as food was not hot by the time we get wine (after reminding though). Anyway, we enjoyed. I would recommend to put less salt to the mussels garlic butter and make a choice of wholemeal bread for them. Also a hint of fresh thyme would add a good flavour.”

“Tasty food and nice service. We ordered a dozen of oysters which were the biggest ones I've ever seen, fresh and flavourful with a nice glass of picpoul de pinet. For mains everyone got the battered haddock, which was also nice with a lovely dressed side salad and chips.”
