About SunnySideUp

On Hall Rd in Norwich, SunnySideUp is a cafe and breakfast restaurant serving a daytime menu Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays. The kitchen is open to view, with food cooked fresh to order, and the menu runs from the All Day Breakfast and Buster breakfast to bubble and squeak and avocado toast with poached eggs. Set breakfasts come with tea or coffee and toast included. Payment is cash only, and the café operates on a walk-in basis rather than taking bookings. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Outdoor seating gives an option for eating outside, while food can also be ordered for takeaway. Parking nearby is limited, though free short-term bays can be found around the corner. Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is the draw, and reviewers return above all for the fry up, praising butchers sausages, decent bacon, free range eggs and proper mushrooms cooked to order in an open kitchen. Two reviewers single out the bubble and squeak, while others name the Buster breakfast with fried bread, the healthy All Day Breakfast, and a large vegetarian English alongside avocado toast with poached eggs. Portions are described as huge and the prices as unbelievably low for the quality. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and one reviewer says the food is plated with care rather than just chucked on a plate. The recurring complaint is parking, which two reviewers call a bit of an adventure, with side street ticket restrictions and only a short-stay free bay found around the corner. One regular also found the cafe closed well before its advertised time. Set breakfasts come with toast and a hot drink included, which one diner had not seen at another breakfast cafe.

“What a gem of a place, warm and friendly. Tried their Buster breakfast, tinned tomatoes (which I prefer), fried bread, great bacon and sausages, all good quality ingredients. A great menu, will be back for the bubble and squeak...”

“Absolutely the best breakfast in Norwich! Unbelievable prices for what you get: the breakfasts have a hot drink included in the price. Butchers sausages, free range eggs, everything cooked to order. Bubble and squeak to die for! Keep up the good work ladies 🌟👌”

“I'm lucky enough to live close by so have been able to take advantage of this delicious good value fry up many times. I used to take my disabled brother, unfortunately he can't make it there anymore....no worries they do a takeaway! Brilliantly run cafe. Can get very busy. But I challenge anyone to find better sausages! Cheers ladies. Update, on my last visit. They had closed, over 40 minutes before the advertised time. So worth ringing if going anywhere near closing time.”
