About Earlham Park Café
Set in Earlham Park, Earlham Park Café is a daytime cafe at 2 The Gardens in Norwich, run by the same person for many years. Dogs come inside on a lead as well as sitting outside, and there are dog sausages behind the counter for them. The food runs from breakfasts and breakfast rolls, served all day, to jacket potatoes, toasties and cheesy chips, with Fish Fingers Chips and Beans among the plates and Hot Chocolate alongside teas and coffees. Homemade cakes sit next to crisps and chocolate for something smaller. Service is walk-in, with orders taken at the counter and both cash and debit cards accepted. Only a few tables fit inside, and it gets busy enough that finding one can take patience. It opens Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with food running through to mid-afternoon. A charity book sale occupies the back of the room, and public toilets are next door.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast and breakfast rolls draw the most praise at this park cafe, with reviewers calling them filling and reasonably priced, and one naming it the best breakfast in Norwich. Close behind are the jacket potatoes, cheesy chips and toasties, described as an honest cafe lunch, along with homemade cakes and hot drinks. The dog friendliness comes up repeatedly, with dogs welcome inside and outside, dog sausages on offer, and a post-walk tea or coffee a common reason for stopping. Reviewers also mention outdoor seating with good views, though only a few tables inside, and one says tables are hard to find once it gets busy. The complaints are specific. One reviewer who asked about cheeseburgers was met with uncertainty at the counter and a shouted warning of a long wait from the kitchen, and felt the staff lacked customer service skills. Another wishes there were gluten free cakes and options, and one says the interior could use some TLC. Others, by contrast, found the staff pleasant and quick, and one noted a book sale for charity at the back.

“Nice cafe, we just popped in for some hot drinks and cakes. Staff were perfectly pleasant and served us very quickly. The cafe could perhaps use a little TLC.”

“Popped in with friends after a long rainy dog walk and had a lovely late lunch and a warm coffee. The food is very reasonably priced and my jacket potato was decent. The cheesy chips and toasties were also great. Nothing fancy just an honest cafe lunch. Loved it.”

“Went in after dog walking to order a couple of cheeseburgers and some drinks, asked the lady if they were doing burgers...... she seemed a bit unsure 🤔 Asked the guy in the kitchen who shouted "there's a 20 minute wait" bit strange I thought, I hadn't and wasn't bothered about a wait ! Got the impression the Chef was busy and wasn't really interested, and by that point I wasn't either, staff need to learn some "customer service skills" as far as I'm concerned. Bit of a shame really, as I tend to vote with my feet 🤷🏻♂️”

“I wish they had gluten free options. It’s very dog friendly, only a few tables inside but plenty of outside space (with good views) for when it’s a beautiful day! Other than lack of gf cakes and options, there are plenty of hot meals available, including toasties and jackets. All day breakfasts too! Great little pit stop for a post-walk tea with the dogs.”
