Customer Review Summary
Cooked breakfast is the recurring draw at Little Grandma's Cafe, with reviewers repeatedly praising a full English made with geordie banger sausages and Heinz beans, served piping hot and arriving quickly. Close behind, the Sunday lunches and a good sized selection of cakes and pastries earn steady mentions, alongside a lasagne one diner recalls fondly. Staff are consistently described as kind and accommodating, with one reviewer noting particular patience shown toward an elderly parent and care taken to keep takeaway drinks and puddings hot. Portions and pricing draw repeated approval, with one reviewer totaling three hot meals and three drinks at under thirty pounds. Complaints center on inconsistency when the cafe gets busy: one visit produced hard egg yolks and lukewarm poached eggs, another reviewer describes staff mixing up orders during a rush, and one diner reports leaving entirely unserved after staff appeared occupied with other tasks despite the cafe being described as busy. Regulars mention returning often for hot drinks and cake to take away.

“Great cooked breakfast was hot when it came out. Good value just under a tenner for meal and pot of tea”

“Terrible service! Didn’t even get served at all, not even drinks were ordered! They said they were busy but didn’t seem to make an attempt to try serve us.. looking around they seemed to be doing anything but serving customers, some staff …”

“Well made, traditional meals and a selection of cakes if that's your thing. Had Sunday lunches, cooked breakfasts, lasagne, soups.... Never been disappointed. Absolute hidden gem. Don't be misled by the location - this is some top notch food... And I LIKE my food.”

“All of the staff who work here are so kind and accommodating especially to older people. They are really patient and happy to adjust to needs or preferences. Nothing is too much bother. My elderly dad always like to take hot drinks and puddings/cakes away and they make sure everything is piping hot. Yummy food, incredible service. The only fault I have is none of the chairs have arms for older people to help them stand but the accessible toilet is very clean and modern and all flat access so it’s just a small thing. We try and come as often as we can and they do prefer cash if possible”

“Good quality food, good size portions, good service and at a good price! This is a lovely place to come for a full English breakfast! They use geordie banger sausages and Heinz beans so you know you're not getting rubbish! The cafe is quite big so I've never struggled to get a seat!”
