About The Badger
The Badger is a pub in Ponteland, Newcastle Upon Tyne, on Street Houses. Its building dates to the 1700s and has served as a gentleman's residence, a farmhouse and a family home. The kitchen cooks classic pub grub, with a Sunday roast and skewers on the menu and a lunch time offer. Cask ales and seasonal dishes round out the offer. Dogs are welcome at the back of the pub, where treats, water and toys are provided. The chefs also cook a three-course Christmas Day meal. Fires burn inside, and guests can ask to be seated near one.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the friendly, attentive service, with several describing a server who was quick, sweet to a young daughter, and made sure the table had everything needed. Another seated guests beside one of the fires on request. The food comes close behind, with the Sunday roast and a pair of skewers called delicious, a three course Christmas Day meal praised, and classic pub grub described as done to a high standard. A few mention a good lunchtime offer and food that was value for money. The setting draws comments too, from twinkle lights at the entrance and a cozy table to a dog friendly beer garden stocked with treats, water and toys. Travellers heading to Newcastle airport say it beats overpriced airport food, and one couple held their wedding reception here, noting that guests commented on how great everything was. No recurring complaints appear. Reviewers close on the same note, that they will be back after a warm greeting at the door.

“Our experience on our way down from Scotland was delightful! We were greeted warmly from the start in the beautiful entrance adorned with twinkle lights and shown to a cozy table. The food was wonderful but our server David was the best part of the experience. He was attentive and very sweet to our little daughter and made sure we were well looked after. A 10/10 experience!”

“We had our wedding reception here in May and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. The venue was perfect for the relaxed atmosphere we wanted, the food was lovely, and all of our guests commented on how great everything was. A special thank you to Dan, who looked after us so well and made sure everything ran smoothly. He went above and beyond to make our day feel so special. We have such wonderful memories and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for a celebration or even just a visit. Thank you again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We were served by David when we popped in for lunch today, quick and super friendly service and honestly one of the nicest pub meals I’ve had in years. I can’t wait to come back!”

“If you want a pre flight bite to eat, you'd be well served grabbing some tasty food from the badger rather than any over priced grub in the Airport. Good selection of classic pub grub done to high standard.”
