About Zhenghao Da Pai Dang Lamian
Zhenghao Da Pai Dang Lamian is a Chinese restaurant at 106 Burlington Rd in New Malden, where the hand-pulled noodles are made in-house. The braised beef noodle soup comes with those homemade noodles, and the handmade dumplings are steamed or pan-fried, with pork and cabbage, carrot or cabbage fillings. Service is semi-self: guests pick up their own utensils, bowls, plates and water cups at the back. The restaurant does not serve drinks and is BYOB, so diners bring their own. The decor is basic, a single chef works the kitchen, and the room can be packed with a wait to be seated. It opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays.

“Definition of a hidden gem! This place serves amazing, authentic Chinese food at a very reasonable price- not your typical Westernised version. It’s so, so delicious that I’ve already recommended it to friends and family, just a few days after discovering it myself. In fact, I’m eating some of their food as takeaway right now while writing this review! 10/10 will be back!”

“I’ve been to Zhenghao Da Pai Dang Lamian many times, and it’s always been a reliable choice. Every time I visit, I order their dumplings — they are consistently delicious and clearly freshly made. You can really taste that they’re handmade, with good fillings and a satisfying texture. The quality has been very consistent over multiple visits, which is something I really appreciate. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to when you’re craving something comforting and well-prepared. I’ve already recommended this restaurant to my friends, and I’ll definitely continue to do so. Highly recommended if you enjoy authentic, freshly made dumplings and noodles.”

“I love this place!! All the dishes were under £10, which is amazing for the quality and portion sizes. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try more dishes on the menu. Highly recommended!”

“Home flavor dumplings, 👍cabbage flavor、carrot flavor、boiling and frying all good. Mushroom and bean curd cold dish is very impressive. 👍Pork pot soup, Mutton, noodles with tomatoes and eggs areSo so . Compare with other small restaurants, this one is worth going as a family weekend dinner.”

“Best braised beef homemade noodles soup for £8.90. Honestly so good and satisfying. The noodles were chewy, soup was delicious and braised beef was so tender. My son declared that this was the best beef noodles soup he ever had. The highlight for me was the aubergines. They were crispy, soft and the sauce was just delish. Looked like they were coated with something before being fried/deep fried. The mapo tofu was ok, not my favourite. Chinatown is overpriced. This place is fantastic value with authentic Chinese food.”

Customer Review Summary
Handmade dumplings anchor the praise, from pork and cabbage to carrot, steamed with a soft chewy skin or pan fried with a crisp one and juicy mince. One regular orders them on every visit and finds them consistently fresh. Close behind are the noodles, especially braised beef noodle soup with chewy noodles and tender beef, along with pork intestine noodles and oil splashing noodle. Reviewers also single out crispy aubergines, wok-fried chow mein, salt and pepper squid and kung pao chicken. Many call the food authentic, with big portions and very reasonable prices, in a no frills room. Not every dish lands: the mapo tofu was called ok, and the pork pot soup, mutton and tomato and egg noodles were rated so so. Reviewers also note the semi-self service, where diners collect their own bowls and utensils, and that no drinks are served, so some bring their own. One reviewer on a packed rainy Friday waited a long time for a table and observed a single chef working the kitchen.
