Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers praise the curries and starters, naming butter chicken, tadka dhal, the Tibetan special, chicken tikka and sheekh kebab, with kulfi and a salted lassi also mentioned. Veg Manchurian is singled out by two diners, and one notes that each dish had its own distinct flavouring. Staff are described as courteous, smiling and friendly, the restaurant as clean and lovely, and several call the prices reasonable. One reviewer says it is very busy and suggests booking in advance. A minority of reviews are sharply negative, and they centre on flavour. Diners report a balti, korma and tikka masala that were bland, and a seafood platter, chicken handi and malai kofta described the same way, while one jalfrezi had stringy chicken. A delivery order drew complaints of a long wait, lukewarm food, small naans, small portions and greasy onion bhajis. One former regular felt quality had dropped and the service was rushed, and another found it weaker than the Oakham branch, saying the sauce tasted like it came from a jar.

“Really disappointed with our recent order from Everest Lounge. We waited a long time for delivery, only for the food to arrive lukewarm. The portion sizes for the price are an absolute joke — definitely not what you would expect for what you’re paying. The onion bhajis were very poor quality, clearly not fried properly. They were greasy, soaked in oil, and not crispy at all. We ordered a balti, korma, and tikka masala, and unfortunately none of them had any real flavour. All three dishes were very bland and lacked any depth or seasoning. The naan breads were also shockingly small — again, nowhere near worth the price. Overall, a very disappointing experience. For a place that advertises itself so highly, especially after celebrity visits, you would expect the food and service to reflect that reputation. Sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype at all.”
