About Nando's Manchester - Trafford Centre

Nando's Manchester - Trafford Centre is a halal-friendly restaurant in Manchester, on the ground floor of The Orient food court, close to the Odeon and Namco Funscape. The kitchen flame-grills PERi-PERi chicken, and the Medium Chicken Butterfly and peri-salted chips are among the dishes on the menu. Sauces come from self-serve pumps at a station that also holds drinks and cutlery, and a water fountain handles refills. Gluten free and allergy options are available. Food comes out quickly even at busy times, and the wait for a table varies with the size of the crowd. Tables sit close together, so seating is tight.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often describe a busy restaurant where food still arrives quickly, and several mention hot dishes and fast service. Friendly staff and plenty of gluten free options earn praise, and one reviewer says allergies are catered for. Food quality draws the most complaints, though. Dried out, reheated looking chips come up in more than one review. One reviewer found a Medium Chicken Butterfly with Peri-salted Chips and rice below the standard of other branches, with clumped rice. Another compares the mac and cheese to a supermarket ready packet, and a third calls the chicken bland, unmarinated and soggy skinned. Shrinking portions and rising prices leave some feeling less value for money. Tables are packed tightly, making it hard to stand up or reach the sauce station, and one reviewer describes waits that vary widely, longer for bigger families. A few report rude or unhelpful staff, including a manager, and one says a server tried to clear their plates twice before they had finished eating.

“Absolute disaster. Way to charge a fortune for bland, unmarinated chicken with soggy skin that barely saw a flame. On top of the long wait, cheap packaging, and being rushed through ordering, the price tag for two chickens could've fed my entire street. I literally had to re-grill the food and add my own sauce at home just to trick my tastebuds into eating it. Hype, no value.”

“The food is good and the quality is always good the service is normally very good but i have noticed a bit of downs on a few occasions sometimes aggressive behaviour rudeness etc but normally great and the atmosphere and the seating is mice but could be better its a bit tight and considering that you may get up a few times more than usual per meal it isn’t ideal sometimes there is no ice in the dispenser which can be a bit of an issue on a hot day where you are already crammed the toilets are relatively clean. The biggest issue i have is the wait time which can vary from up to 10 minutes to about 1 and a half hours plus especially with a bigger family but at the end of the day makes sense due to the location overall a decent location”

“Food was OK, very busy and food came out quick, bit chips seemed reheated. Also the cleanliness of the where the dishwashing area was when I saw the door open a few times was an absolute mess, tissue all over the floor, cutlery, it wasn't just a mess it was all a trip hazard for anyone working in there, needed a tidy as you go approach. Felt put off after seeing that dirty mess and won't be returning. Oh and dont bother with your automated AI replies to the reviews, so obvious it's not a real person when looking through the other replies to reviews.”

“I've visited this Nando's several times, and one issue keeps coming up: the plates and cutlery don't seem to be washed properly. They often have an unpleasant smell, which is very off-putting and raises concerns about hygiene. The food and service are generally good, but this is something that really needs attention. I hope the management reviews their dishwashing procedures to ensure all plates and cutlery are thoroughly cleaned and odour-free before being used by customers.”
