Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers come for the manakeesh, praised as freshly baked and generously topped, with the lahm ajeen minced meat version and the egg with cheese and sausage singled out. Close behind are the falafel, called fresh and crisp outside and soft inside, along with the hummus, shawarma wrap, and chicken wrap. Several also mention the takeaway bakery items, including meat fatayers, sausage rolls, and mini pastries that one reviewer bought for a picnic. Prices and portions are repeatedly called reasonable, and the staff are described as friendly and welcoming, with one reviewer noting a helpful approach to their young children. Reviewers also mention the kids' menu. The main complaints are tricky parking and one reviewer's experience at the tills, where a cashier refused to take an order that had been served without problem on an earlier visit and stopped another staff member from helping. Another reviewer, by contrast, praised the two people working the tills. One regular who travels from Gatwick describes a stop here as compulsory whenever in Manchester.

“I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. One of the cashiers refused to take my order without any valid reason. Even more frustrating, they prevented another staff member from helping me, which left me feeling unwelcome and embarrassed. The order I requested was exactly the same as the one I had ordered during a previous visit, and it was prepared for me without any issues at that time. This makes the refusal even more confusing and unacceptable. I also noticed similar unprofessional behavior from other cashiers. Customer service should be respectful, helpful, and consistent, but unfortunately that was not the case during my visit. I hope the management addresses this issue and provides better customer service training to ensure other customers do not have the same experience.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic experience at Mr. Cana! The chicken wrap was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The restaurant is very clean, the prices are fair, and the customer service is excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I’m really happy with both the food and the service. I highly recommend Mr. Cana and will definitely be coming back!”

“Absolutely brilliant. Came to Mr Manakeesh expecting a quick bite and left already planning my next visit. The manakeesh itself is the real deal, dough baked fresh, properly charred at the edges, and generously topped. You can tell it’s made by people who care about getting it right rather than just churning it out. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, the portions are spot on for the price, and the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. It’s the kind of place that feels genuine — no shortcuts, no fuss, just really good food done properly. If you’re in Manchester and haven’t tried it, do yourself a favour. 10/10, will absolutely be back.”
