Quick info
About Maray Manchester
Maray Manchester is a Middle Eastern restaurant at 14 Brazennose St in Manchester, built around a small plates menu where the dishes are meant for sharing. The kitchen draws on Mediterranean and North African flavours as well, and Disco cauliflower sits among the sharing plates alongside a falafel sharer served with tabouleh and a spicy sauce. One side of the menu is dedicated to vegan dishes, so plant-based diners have their own section to choose from. The bar covers cocktails such as the fig negroni and a wine list that includes Lebanese rosé. Walk-ins without a reservation are booked in for a later slot.

Customer Review Summary
Disco cauliflower is the dish reviewers raise most, described as beautifully cooked with a divine sauce, and one suggests ordering extra pita to mop it up. Close behind are the falafel sharer plate, the sea bass and the vegan options, with the whipped feta and beetroot dip, mushroom shwarma, chickpea dopiaza and a very rich vegan ganache also named. Diners pair them with a fig negroni and Lebanese rosé, and several describe the staff as welcoming and the plates as filling. The complaints are modest but specific. One diner found the falafel sauce too spicy and wished it could be left off, another noted the meat and fish were all fried, and a third found the rump steak a bit chewy. One reviewer says prices soon mount up on small plates. A Sunday roast reviewer found everything arrived slightly cool, though the generous meats and spiced vegetables won praise. That roast came with gravy already poured and a jug handed over for topping up.

“The internal features of this building are beautiful. The containment along with the black lighting fixtures really make it a place for awe to inspire. Thank you so much, the food was also good. Rump steak a bit chewy but not a massive complaint. Took allergies very seriously with skewers in each dish, which the allergenic woman appreciated.”

“INCREDIBLE I live in the countryside, I'm vegan and with 3 children I rarely get to eat out so when I do get to eat out I want it to be something special and this just ticked every box. The food was out of this world, highlights for me were the falafel sharer plate and the disco cauliflower. Drinks: The fig negroni and the Lebanese rosé wine. Thank you for an amazing experience, next time I'm in Manchester or Liverpool, I'll be back!”

“A really lovely place with lovely staff. The food was really nice, plenty of vegan options, the highlight was probably the cauliflower. Everything was well presented a good vibe overall.”

“Really wonderful food. Great selection for a vegetarian like me. It’s small plates but some of them aren’t that small. Had the humus with pita bread and the fatoush salad and Disco Cauliflower. More than enough for one person. Everything came up looking at tasing delicious. Service was excellent and the decor was lovely. Like most small plate places prices soon mount up - but well worth the money. Can’t wait to go back.”

“INCREDIBLE food, lovely staff and great interiors. We visited Maray for a birthday meal and it didn’t disappoint. The menu is great as has its own dedicated vegan side, which was perfect and had so many options, all of which were delicious. We left thoroughly full with leftovers in tow. The whole team were so welcoming and attentive, thanks to Meg and the rest of the team. Highly recommend!”
