  “The food was good. There were quite a lot of options, as you’ll be able to see from the menu in person or online. We shared a starter plate of yershig and two mains, golubsty and lconac smbuk. All three were great, but my favourite was the lnocac smbuk. The portions weren’t especially impressive nor were they small. Certainly not very filling on their own, so I highly recommend getting at least one starter. I had only one problem with the food. We kept biting into something quite fragrant and slightly off-putting in all of our plates. If I had to guess based on research on the cuisine, I might say it’s pimento. Happened four times to me. Service was slow too. There weren’t many people when we came. It took about 35 minutes for our starter to arrive, and another 35 minutes for the mains. So overall, we were waiting quite a while. But that seemed more like an issue with the kitchen than our server, who was quite attentive. He was the only one working.”

  “We were a group of 20 who had booked this restaurant for lunch. The ambiance is just beautiful. The service was excellent. We tried plenty dishes and were happy with almost everything.”

  “First time back after many years, the place has been fully refurbished to a nice standard. Unfortunately the food did not meet the same high standard and was quite disappointing. Octopus was very rubbery, sausage starter was just one chopped up sausage lost in a bowl of watery sauce.”

  “We had dinner at this restaurant, the wine was amazing and definitely one of the highlights of the evening However, I think the restaurant really needs to work on the main courses. I was surprised to see shashlik served with this type of salad and without any proper garnish or side dish. For the price being charged, I would expect the main course to feel more complete and better presented”

  “★★★★★ I visited Armenian Taverna with my friends for my birthday dinner, and it was truly a beautiful experience from beginning to end. I am originally from Poland, but I have lived in Manchester for around 15 years now. Even though this was Armenian food, the warmth and hospitality reminded me so much of the feeling of home — the kind of food and care you remember from your mum’s or grandmother’s table. That made the evening feel even more special, especially on my birthday. Every single dish we had was absolutely delicious. From the starters, to the meats, drinks, soup, solyanka, dessert — everything was full of flavour and made with real care. You can feel that this is a family-run restaurant. Nothing tasted processed or prepared without thought. Every ingredient felt fresh, honest and homemade, even the ice cream at the end. The atmosphere was wonderful. The owners were warm, smiling and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant was clean, elegant and full of character, with beautiful decor and even proper cloth napkins, which is something you rarely see nowadays. At the end, they brought me a lovely pancake/crepe with ice cream and a candle for my birthday, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. It made the whole evening feel personal and memorable. I only took photos at the beginning and at the very end, because in between I completely forgot that my phone existed. I was too busy enjoying the food, the conversation, my friends and the atmosphere. And honestly, that says everything. A wonderful place, beautiful food, warm people and a truly memorable birthday evening. I would absolutely recommend it.”

  “We celebrated a birthday at this restaurant and had such an amazing time! The atmosphere was beautiful and cozy, the staff were incredibly kind and professional, and the service was excellent. Every dish was delicious and served perfectly hot. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we left with the best impressions. Highly recommend this place for special occasions!”

  “Ordered 2 borscht soups that were meant to be vegan, but both came with sour cream. The two soups were also different in colour and taste, which was a bit odd. Portions were barely filled, and my girlfriend found a hair in hers. Spent £20 and honestly felt like a waste of money. Pretty disappointing experience overall. The quality and service didn’t match what we expected based on the Google reviews.”

  “We had a wonderful evening at Armenian Taverna in Manchester. The restaurant has a very cozy, warm atmosphere that really feels like home. The interior is beautiful and stylish, with a charming retro vibe that makes the whole experience even more special. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The waiters were attentive and professional, and the owner or main manager was also a very kind and lovely woman who made us feel very welcome!! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered shashlik, khinkali and holybtsi, and everything tasted authentic and perfectly cooked. You can really tell the kitchen cares about quality and traditional recipes!! We absolutely loved it!! We also had Georgian red wine, which was excellent and paired perfectly with the food. The only small downside was that the menu was a bit expensive, but the quality of food was great so it was still worth it!! Great location, amazing atmosphere, friendly service and fantastic Armenian cuisine. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic food and a cozy dining experience in Manchester. We will definitely come back!”

  “We were so happy that my friends and I finally got to try this restaurant. The location is very easy to find, and the Armenian food was absolutely delicious, full of rich, welldefined layers of flavour. The service was excellent, and the dining atmosphere was very comfortable. Armenian guests at the next table kindly recommended some dishes to us, which we really enjoyed. Highly recommended!”
