About Albert's Shed Restaurant Manchester
Albert's Shed Restaurant Manchester is a modern European restaurant at 18-20 Castle St in Manchester, set on the site of a former tool shed. Its large south-facing terrace has a glass canopy, and dogs are welcome, so diners can bring them along. The menu includes a cheese and onion pie served with sides such as dauphinoise potatoes or truffle and parmesan mash. On Sundays, the kitchen turns to a Sunday roast and a Sunday lunch sharing platter. The drinks list carries a range of alcohol-free options, including a Mango Lemonade. Service is at the table, with staff taking both drink and food orders there. Live music plays at some lunch sessions.

Customer Review Summary
Cheese and onion pie is the dish reviewers name most, served with dauphinoise potatoes or truffle and parmesan mash, and one diner calls the food faultless. Close behind are the whipped feta, the ribeye sharer and the sticky toffee pudding. The hummus, the Feta Nourish Bowl and a Mango Lemonade also get singled out. Servers draw repeated praise as lovely, friendly and helpful, and a few mention the live music and the canal views from the outdoor seating. Complaints centre on value and execution. One diner found the sirloin steak minimal, with a small portion of thin fries, no vegetables and extra sides at additional cost, and another says portions could be bigger. A reviewer found the fish and chips batter soggy after what seemed a long wait at the pass. A roast beef dinner was called salty, the Yorkshire puddings flat, and the noise level too high. One reviewer describes a fork that looked unwashed, replaced instantly with an apology, and a missing side of chips put right before the first bite.

“I had been coming to Albert Shed since 20 years ago. Less a frequent customer since I left Uni. Service always warm welcome by all the staffs, place is cleaned and well decorated, spacing between tables are reasonable. Foods always on the good side, however I feel like my Fish & Chips might have waited at the passing for too long, 3 of my friends ordered steaks. The bottom of the fish was soaky and soft. Battered on the prawns were no longer crispy. Food ingredients are high level as always, just abit of shame the batters were soaky. It was a very busy evening service, the kitchen probably abit chaotic. I would say a minor impact on my experience. It doesn't stop me returning in the future.”

“We had lunch at Albert’s Shed on 26th July as a group of seven, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, with every dish beautifully prepared and full of flavour. A special mention goes to our server, Emily D., who was warm, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our meal. To top it all off, the live music created a wonderful atmosphere that made the afternoon even more enjoyable. We all had a great time and would happily recommend Albert’s Shed to anyone looking for great food, outstanding service, and a lively ambience.”

“I visited Albert's on friday evening with my partner. We were greeted at the door by Tiegan, very well presented and welcoming, tooknour details asked whether we put our reg number in the tablet and seated us, Emily then took over our service. Asked if we would like water for the table. A few minutes later took our drinks order. She gave us 10 minutes and aske if we were ready to order, we put out order with her. My partner had the prawn starter and the sea bass main. I ordered the garlic bread and cheese and onion pie with a side of dauphinoise potatoes, (i cant come to Albert's and not have these) Starters arrived in a timely manor, I asked if any sauces were available Tiegan suggested olive oil and balsamic vinegar, I agreed and it was a great option with the garlic bread. Starters finished. Table cleared and the Second drink ordered, Albert's larger, (Highly Recommended) and the mains soon followed, unfortunately no chips on the plate which came with the cheese and onion pie as per the menu, I pointed out to Emily the minor issue, and Tiegan overheard and immediately resolved this. Overall the evening was very pleasant. Our food was faultless, the larger was refreshing, our service was on point from all, there were 3 minute. (tiny) issues which were resolved in seconds making there absolutely no reason to moan about anything. They were as follows. 1st) my fork unfortunately looked like it hadn't been through the washer and was fresh from someone's mouth. Asked Tiegan for a replacement. It was replaced instantly and an apology given, 2nd) No chips on my plate. I would think that when Emily took my order, she might have simply misunderstood me. Again. Tiegan resolved this before I could even take a bite of my food. And lastly) when the second drink was delivered, the empty glass was left on the table, I simply put it on the ledge next to me and it was removed without me even noticing. Just to be clear, this in no no way cause me to be unhappy with our service, and will in no way stop me from returning. To sum up, we were greeted with a smile, we received service with a smile, Tiegan and Emily were both lovely, helpful and accommodating, the atmosphere and noise level was absolutely perfect and please pass my compliments to the chef(s) the food was faultless. Im already looking forward to returning.”

“Great atmosphere, delicious food and great service! Portions can be a bit bigger for the price, but overall a great Father’s Day lunch”

“We loved the whipped feta, the ribeye sharer was to die for and the sticky toffee pudding was the cherry on the cake. We felt very well looked after by our waitress Leah and had a lovely dinner.”
