Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most to the views over the Manchester skyline, which several call stunning, and many pair them with a stylish, relaxed room. Among dishes, steaks come up most: the T-bone, the porterhouse and a rump steak at lunch, with the lamb, sea bass, half lobster and prawns also singled out as perfectly cooked. Staff draw steady praise as friendly and attentive, and birthday and congratulations plates were a touch several describe. The main complaints concern cost and comfort. One diner found the food no better than Harvester for the price and called it a one-time visit, another noted extras like fries and sauces add up, and a third objected to a 13.5% service charge even when ordering through the app. One reviewer felt uncomfortably hot during a heatwave because the air conditioning could not keep up. Others mention a wobbling table and plastic glasses for alcoholic drinks. A solo visitor was frustrated that reservations require two people, and found the entrance staff demanding about bookings at a quiet lunch.

“Visited with my wife for my (very) belated birthday. Served by Kseniia who was excellent and deserves a special mention for her service and efficiency. Nice little touch with the birthday cake also 😉The views were excellent and having done similar at the Ivy this location was definitely superior in my opinion. Would definitely visit again”

“What an amazing place this is. Stunning views of Manchester, the whole restaurant is designed in an amazing layout. The food is amazing, definitely recommend the porterhouse steak. Our server was a great lad, attentive and friendly. Think his name was Mo. Whatever you’re paying him it’s not enough.”

“Their workdays lunch time cream tea on the terrace is perfect if you want the view without obligations. Terrace is heated on the chillier days and really quiet during that time. The serving staff is very pleasant and friendly. The staff at the entrance - less so, more of the checking you up and demanding reservation (which is OK for busy times, I guess bit not on quiet work day lunch). About the reservations though, their minimum for reservations is 2 person, it's impossible to book for one. No such problem in their sister 24 Stories place in Birmingham, so I kinda felt discriminated and that's why decided on non-committal drink, rather than a meal.”

“Security checkin downstairs, big laterns illuminationing the wall to the entrance nice touch. Nice design of the restaurant. Feels premium, exceptional services from our waiter. Nice modern outside area. Best prawns I've ever eaten. Recommended, perfectly cooked with a suace. Lamb and chicken diss was cooked well. Con: the only that was wrong the table was wobbling. Thought that was wierd for a "high end " place. Plastic glasses for the alcoholic drinks 🍸.”

“20 Stories during our time in Manchester. It was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by your hosting team. I would particularly like to commend Marina, who was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the evening. She expertly guided us through the brand-new menu that had just launched and helped us select dishes that we absolutely loved. Her outstanding service made us feel truly at home. The food itself was exceptional, and it is clear that the chefs put a great deal of passion and care into every dish; everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We also thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The restaurant is stylish and spotlessly clean, and the views from the 20th floor over the Manchester skyline were simply stunning, especially around sunset. While we noted it is an upscale experience, the combination of top-tier service, high-quality food, and the incredible setting made it 100% worth it. We left with amazing memories and will certainly be returning in the future. On a final note, I did want to mention a point regarding the billing process. We found it a bit surprising that even when ordering through the app, a 13.5% non-discretionary service charge is applied to the final total. Given the digital nature of the ordering system, this felt somewhat inconsistent with the typical service model. Thank you again for a wonderful evening, and I look forward to visiting you again soon.”
