About Pulp Coffee.

Pulp Coffee. pours from a tucked-away garden courtyard off Hanover St in Manchester, where a few small tables make up the whole of the seating, so every visit is outdoor dining. Espresso drinks make up most of the counter order, and a freshly made batch brew runs alongside them, its beans switched between different origins every couple of days. Croissants and other pastries sit next to the coffee. Orders are placed at the counter with no booking, and drinks are served in paper cups, which suits anyone carrying one off to drink elsewhere. Music plays in the courtyard while you wait. The shop trades Monday to Friday during the daytime and stays closed at weekends.

“This cafe has only outdoor seating area. I ordered a cortado, coffee bean flavor is intense and a bit bitter for my taste.”

“Coffee is great and the place has cosy vibes with cute small tables and nice music. I found the service to be standoffish though. I also noticed that a bag of beans is sitting directly on top of the coffee machine where it gets warmed up and toasted all day long. If you know something about coffee you would guess what this does to the beans? I’m sure you can find another spot to display it without compromising on quality. Just a suggestion.”

“Good coffee and good atmosphere. If you’re near by, you should pass and try their freshly made batch brew coffee. If you’re interested in trying out different coffee beans origins, every couple of days they use different beans for their batch brew. It’s a great spot to enjoy your coffee while reading a book or working on something. And i hope that they changed the kind of paper cup they were using, because the quality of it was poor and the coffee was leaking from it.”

Customer Review Summary

Coffee quality is what nearly every reviewer leads with, and the freshly made batch brew draws particular attention, with one noting the beans rotate through different origins every couple of days. Close behind are the espresso drinks: a cappuccino described as rich and smooth with notes of chocolate and citrus, a flat white called delicious, and what one reviewer rates the best Americano they have had in Manchester, alongside praise for silky milk and a barista several describe as friendly and passionate about quality. A croissant gets a mention too. The complaints are scattered rather than shared: one found a cortado intense and a bit bitter, one described the service as standoffish, one criticised a paper cup that leaked, and another flagged a bag of beans left sitting on top of the warm machine as a risk to quality. Several point out the seating is outdoors only, set in a small garden courtyard with little tables, music and sun.
