About 200 Degrees Coffee Shop & Barista School
200 Degrees Coffee Shop & Barista School is a coffee shop at 75 Mosley St in Manchester, between St. Peters Square and Piccadilly Gardens. The team roasts its own beans at around 200 degrees Centigrade, which is where the company gets its name, and the shop also runs a barista school with on-site training. Orders are placed at the counter, where baristas make each drink and finish it with latte art. The coffee list includes a Spanish latte, and the cakes and bakes include a banana and chocolate loaf and cinnamon buns. High stools along the window face the street. A second branch operates in Whitechapel, Liverpool.

Customer Review Summary
Slow service is the recurring complaint. One visitor waited around eight to nine minutes with no line, another found the coffee arrived after the cake was finished, and a third was left waiting by an unfriendly counter worker. Specials such as matcha were out of stock on two attempts. One reviewer asked three times for a spoon and a cleared table, and was told "just put it here, thank you" when handing over the old cutlery herself.

“The service was atrocious. When my coffee was brought over, it had been spilled all over the mug and the plate holding the mug. Instead of cleaning it properly, a tissue was placed over the puddle of coffee and the jug was then put back on top of it. The mug itself also had coffee stains all over it, and there was no spoon provided. On top of that, our table still had dirty cutlery left behind from the previous customers. You would expect this to be cleared when bringing over a new order, but I was told it would be cleaned up and then it was completely forgotten about. I had to ask three separate times for the table to be cleared and for a spoon. After around 30 minutes, I eventually cleared the old cutlery myself and took it over to the barista I had already politely asked for help. When I asked where I should put it, I was met with a sarcastic “just put it here, thank you.” Overall, the service was incredibly inattentive and unprofessional. Having to repeatedly ask for basic things like clean cutlery, a spoon, and a clean table really ruined the experience.”

“Popped in here a couple of days in mid-May while in the area and tried both the mocha and the hazelnut latte - there’s a good balance between the syrups and the coffee flavour which I love. The baristas are also really lovely, one guy appreciating that I took a picture of his latte art before putting the lid on it, which put a smile on my face If in Manchester, I would be back 😉”

“Their cinnamon buns and other sweets treats are to die for. Friendly and polite staff. Worth coming here for a quick lunch or morning brunch. Their coffee is so delicious and I have been coming here for three years, so please check them out.”

“Walked in for a Matcha because their specials menu looked great. Waited a while for service from an unfriendly lady behind the counter. The specials were out of stock. Also bought beans but service did not improve second time round. The specials were also out of stick. Not a welcoming vibe at all and would definitely not return.”

“I visited 200 Degree Coffee in Manchester again and it was amazing, as normal. This place consistently delivers. I tried their new banana and chocolate loaf and it was absolutely delicious, moist, rich, and a perfect mix of banana and chocolate. One of the best cakes I’ve had there. The only tiny downside was the timing, the service was a bit slow bringing out the coffee, so by the time it arrived, the cake was already long gone! 😂 Still, everything tasted great and it’s a lovely spot. Highly recommended if you’re after quality coffee and excellent bakes in Manchester. We’ll be back again soon!”

“Independent speciality coffee roasters, purveyors of distinctive coffee shops, and unashamedly proud to be coffee geeks. We roast our coffee at around 200 degrees Centigrade giving it a smooth taste, less bitterness and a very simple name for the company. Enjoy your cup”
