Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the main draw, with reviewers praising stone baked pizzas, a gluten-free pizza and well-handled vegan options, and one self-described non-pizza eater says he could spend a whole evening sharing them. Close behind are the cocktails, described as creative and well made, including the bramble cocktails, along with Estrella on tap and a good mocha. Brunch earns mentions too, notably the baked eggs and a lemon meringue muffin, and the humus starter gets a nod. Many describe a friendly, welcoming, vibrant atmosphere with kind staff, a large venue with an upstairs for working, and a live acoustic set in the evening. The complaints centre on service and organisation. One ticketed World Cup screening left diners squeezed in, with tables behind pillars and doors and drink orders taking forever. That reviewer calls the service terrible on every visit, and another had to ask repeatedly for water. A disappointing cappuccino ended with a refund after the staff member did not apologise.

“Came here for one of the world cup screenings and it was absolute carnage. Seats were allocated upon arrival and we were squeezed in like sardines. Tables were put behind doors, pillars and plants so you couldnt even see the screen despite paying for a ticket! The drink situation was also mad, couldnt go up to the bar to order but staff took forever to come around and take orders. So poorly organised. The service is terrible every time I come here, I dont know why I thought itd be different for a ticketed event(!) Food isn't good either and terrace stinks of dog urine. It baffles me how this place is rated so highly.”

“I've mostly visited this place in the evenings, and it's always had a friendly atmosphere with a great vibe. The cocktails are excellent, and there's almost always somewhere comfortable to sit. Today I stopped by for a coffee, and it was really good. The breakfast smelled amazing but I didn't eat there yet. The lemon meringue muffin was genuinely one of the best desserts I've ever eaten! I'd highly recommend this place, whatever time of day you visit. My only criticism is that I wish the downstairs area was as nice and inviting as the rest of the venue.”

“Cappuccino had gone-off milk in it, didn't realise till I had a drink and it tasted vile. Staff member didn't apologise and acted like I was inconveniencing them. Got a refund and won't be returning.”

“Went here yesterday for food and once before for drinks, really lovely atmosphere, great pizzas, Estrella on tap and accommodated vegan options really well as well as having a nice non-alcoholic beer for those who don't want alcohol. Also had live acoustic set on when I was leaving which was nice to see/hear.”

“Cuckoo is a brilliant bar with a fun, vibrant atmosphere that makes for a great night out. The cocktails are creative and well made, and there’s a good selection of drinks to suit different tastes. The music and décor add to the lively feel, and the staff are friendly and efficient even when it’s busy. A great spot for drinks with friends and a memorable evening.”
