Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with fish and chips, the mac and cheese and the tandoori skewer described as lovely or delicious, and a few call the meals a bargain or great value. Flatbreads and a burger also get approval, desserts such as the chocolate brownie, apple crumble and caramelised waffle with ice cream draw their own praise, and one reviewer found the Thatchers cider bob on. Staff earn repeated credit as friendly, helpful and patient, including at a family wake and for a table of twelve. Speed is the recurring complaint. One reviewer had to chase drinks ordered through the website at the bar, another found the food slow to arrive despite a quiet room, and that same reviewer thought the steak was mid while the chicken was spot on. One suggests going a little earlier on busy visits for quicker service, though others say food came out swiftly even when the pub was full. One group was even allowed to stay beyond its allotted time.

“The staff were very friendly and helpful, and patient. There were 12 of us!! We didn't have to wait too long for the food either. They let us stay longer than our allotted time, so sweet of them. An enjoyable evening!!”

“Took my 83 year old mum for lunch, we both had fish and chips and it was lovely. Great value for money two main courses for £15.”

“Typical pub. Ensure why it took so long for the food to arrive, there wasn't that many customers at that time already! (took upwards of 45 minutes). Food was nice and delicious but expect to spend over 13£-20£. Steak was mid and chicken was spot on though.”
