About Yamabahçe
Yamabahçe is a Turkish restaurant at 26 James St in London, built around pide baked fresh with fillings such as spinach and feta, four cheese and sucuk. Lahmacun comes with a side of tomatoes, rocket, parsley and onions. Flatbreads and salads with pomegranate and walnuts sit alongside the baked dishes, and soup is offered as a starter. The Turkish breakfast pairs sucuk and eggs with honey and kaymak for those who want a morning meal. Turkish tea and Turkish coffee are served, and the drinks list also includes wine. Seating is indoors. Dogs are welcome, so diners can bring their pets along when they come to eat.

Customer Review Summary
Pide is the dish diners return to most, with reviewers praising the spinach and feta version with sesame, the sucuk pide, and a four cheese one, all described as perfectly baked with dough cooked just right. Lahmacun comes close behind. One diner calls it perfect, served with tomatoes, rocket, parsley and onions, while another found it tasty but slightly under salted. Breakfast earns its own praise for sucuk and eggs, menemen, and honey with kaymak. Mantı, kuru fasulye, chicken soup, flatbreads and excellent french fries also draw mentions, and one reviewer suggests the soup as a starter. Turkish tea and coffee are called spot on, and künefe and bal kaymak are singled out for dessert. Several describe friendly, attentive staff even when the room was crowded, and the atmosphere as lively and relaxed, though one finds it a little noisy. Reviewers call the spaghetti with köfte original and surprisingly good, and one asks for the baklava with ice cream, no longer on the menu, to be brought back.

“It had been a long time since I’d had such a genuine taste of Turkiye. The mantı was honestly amazing, the dough felt like it was rolled by hand. The pide dough was top quality too, cooked just right. The four cheese one was incredible, and the meat one was proper homestyle, exactly the flavour I’d been missing. The kuru fasulye and rice were done Black Sea style, that warm home cooked feeling you know so well. The salad with pomegranate and walnuts went perfectly with it and freshened up the table. As a starter I’d absolutely recommend the chicken soup with a touch of cream, it was a lovely way to begin. My only small note is about the lahmacun. It was tasty but slightly under salted, just a pinch more and it would have been spot on. Other than that, thank you for everything, we’ll definitely be back 👌”
