About Côte St Christopher's Place

Côte St Christopher's Place is a London restaurant at 6-8 St Christopher's Pl that serves breakfast alongside its regular menu. Morning plates include salted butter French Toast, paired with a cappuccino. For the main meal, sirloin and fillet steak come with frites, and the bottomless fries mean extra portions are brought to the table when you order them. Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out the salted butter French toast and a good cappuccino and cortado in a quiet, delightful room. Close behind, diners like the bottomless fries and the set menu, where the potted crab and pistachio crème brûlée stand out. One reviewer with a wheat and dairy intolerance says dishes are clearly marked for dietary restrictions, and the sea bream was adapted for them. Service is the recurring complaint. Several describe slow service, including a long wait before anyone took an order, a forgotten baguette and water, and mains that arrived very late even in a near-empty dining room. Steak draws criticism too, with a chewy sirloin, silver skin on another cut, and a fillet served with only a few fries. One reviewer reports a manager offering a free replacement side, and another had the chewy main replaced and the leftover dessert packed to take away.

“The Manager in charge, I think his name was José was amazing, he described the food amazingly, he even met all my needs in terms of the food and he was a great supervisor. I definitely was the best person on the job. I will definitely be coming back if José it’s working. He is an amazing manager! He deserves a raised. The atmosphere was great too.”

“Food was ok it wasn’t bad. The steak still had some silver skin on it which docked some points. The orders were a bit messed up as there are bottomless fries but I only ordered for one but 7 came for no reason. Service forgot some orders and only brought us the 2 bottles of water that we order ,at the beginning, at the end. Also for a place where service is 28£ it doesn’t justify their excuse for not seeing us as we were in the corner. I would expect that that table would have some more looks to see if any customer would need anything. I also saw that many people outside had to come inside to tell they were ready to order or that they wanted something (as we were seated in the corner near the entrance). The atmosphere was very dim in our corner. Overall DONT sit in the corner and shout your order out so they can remember it. (to add the food took more than a hour and a half to arrive). I also found while going down to the toilets that the chefs were just staring at their phone and the kitchen was completely silent.”

“I really like Côte and have always enjoyed dining there, which is why I’m especially disappointed to be leaving this review. We visited your restaurant yesterday in late afternoon. The restaurant was almost empty, with only around five tables occupied, yet from the moment we arrived, we felt completely overlooked as customers. After we had chosen our meals, it took around 20 minutes before anyone even realised we were ready to order. There wasn’t even a simple apology for the wait or a “thank you for your patience.” The food also took a very long time to arrive, especially the main courses. It doesn’t feel nice to ask where is our food! When my meal was finally served, I kindly reminded the waiter that I had also ordered a baguette with butter, and unfortunately that took a long time to arrive as well. It was obvious that the team wasn’t communicating or working together effectively. The service felt disorganised, and because of that I couldn’t enjoy my meal at all. I worked in restaurants during my student years, so I understand how restaurants operate. When a restaurant manager is attentive and actively supervising the floor, staff are much less likely to provide such poor and indifferent service. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the impression we got during this visit. I’m sorry to say that I won’t be returning to this branch ever again. I value the money I spend when dining out, and on this occasion the service simply didn’t justify it.”

“I just had the best cortado in London. 🤝🏻 The cream caramel was nice and light. Nothing special. The staff are nice but the service is kind of slow. Nice experience overall🤍”
