  “Had an excellent experience at The Great Chase! The food was fantastic, but the halal Beef Wellington was definitely the highlight for me — beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and something you don’t often get to enjoy at a halal restaurant. Everything else we tried was delicious, with generous portions and great presentation. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A fantastic place for anyone looking for high-quality halal food. The Beef Wellington alone is worth coming back for! Highly recommended.”

  “This was our very first visit to The Great Chase and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Totally worth the journey into London for this restaurant! We enjoyed our mushroom soup starters and cocktails. For our mains we had the Beef Wellington and 30 Day Aged Ribeye. Both were absolutely delicious!! The steak remained soft and moist until the very end. Then came dessert…the sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart were also amazing! The staff were super friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.”

  “Ordered the Lamb Roast, Beef Dripping Mash and Passionfruit Dream mocktail. The Roast was lovely, lamb was very tender and the vegetables that came with it were also very tasty. The stuffing was my favourite side that came with it, I wish there was more of it lol! My only fault with the roast was the Yorkshire pudding, it was too dry, even with the gravy. I did not think the Beef Dripping Mash was worth £9 considering the portion size, and it did just taste like plain mash, the gravy was also a bit bitter for my liking (but only with this dish, the gravy that came with the Roast was nice). The Passionfruit Dream mocktail was gorgeous, loved every sip of it! Service was perfect, our waiter was very kind and helpful, I would definitely come back again for the great service. We were also given a free scoop of ice cream as we were celebrating a special occasion which was very lovely!”

  “We recently visited The Great Chase for dinner and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The highlight of the evening was definitely the Beef Wellington. The beef was incredibly tender, cooked perfectly, and paired beautifully with the garnish and sauce. The Lamb Roast was also excellent, with a generous portion and full of flavour. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive throughout the evening, making us feel well looked after without being intrusive. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and offers a unique halal fine dining experience that is difficult to find in London. The only downside was the price. Our bill came to around £140 for one starter, two mains and two mocktails. While the quality of the food and service was very good, I felt it was slightly expensive for what was included. Overall, I’d happily recommend The Great Chase to anyone looking for a special halal dining experience in London. Great food, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere, but just be prepared to pay a premium.”

  “Was excellent. Served by a waiter called Islam who was attentive during our time there always topping up our drinks and checking on us. Wonderful team. My wife mentioned it was my birthday on the reservation and the manager remembered and brang my dessert with a birthday message. It really is small things that make a restaurant outstanding. Food was wonderful huge portions and they had a prayer area. Genuinely 10/10 doing a great job will defo be back highly recommended”

  “I'd give The Great Chase more of a 3.5-star rating, but unfortunately Google doesn't do half stars! We visited on the day of the Arsenal parade. After spending the day enjoying the celebrations, we wanted somewhere for dinner before heading home and, as it was a Sunday, I was craving a halal Sunday roast. From the moment we arrived, the staff were lovely. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and I genuinely couldn't fault the service. I ordered the 16 Hour Slow Cooked Lamb Shank, while my friend opted for the beef roast (I can't remember the exact name, but it came with the same accompaniments). All roasts were served with gravy, roasted vegetables, roast potatoes, stuffing, neeps purée, tenderstem broccoli, cauliflower and a Yorkshire pudding. We also shared a portion of the truffle cauliflower cheese, although I ended up eating more than half of it because I absolutely love anything truffle-flavoured! We forgot to order it with our mains, but when we called a waiter over midway through our meal, he advised it would take around 5–7 minutes to arrive, which was perfectly fine. Breaking down the meal itself, the lamb shank was undoubtedly the highlight. It was incredibly tender, literally falling off the bone with the slightest prod, and was juicy and packed with flavour. The gravy came in a small jug and tasted great, but I do wish there had been a little more of it. I like my roast dinners bordering on being drowned in gravy, and I found myself running out before finishing the meal. I wasn't particularly keen on the giant parsnip, which had a slightly unusual taste and was firmer than I would have liked. However, the rest of the roasted vegetables were lovely, soft and nicely charred. The stuffing was delicious and honestly one of my favourite components of the plate. I just wish there had been more of it. The roast potatoes were enjoyable, although I may have been responsible for sacrificing some of their crispiness by covering them in gravy! The neeps purée was also very nice, and paired particularly well with the lamb. Unfortunately, the Yorkshire pudding was the most disappointing part of the meal. It wasn't especially soft and had some quite firm areas. By that point I'd already run out of gravy, so I couldn't soften it up either. The truffle cauliflower cheese was probably my second favourite item after the lamb. It was creamy, indulgent and had a lovely truffle flavour running through it without being overpowering. Overall, there were definitely some strong elements to the meal, particularly the lamb shank, cauliflower cheese and the excellent service. However, a few aspects of the roast felt slightly underwhelming, which stopped it from being a higher-rated experience. I'd still be open to returning and trying other dishes in the future.”

  “The meat dishes were really amazing. Portions were also decent, and we left full. Would recommend the roast beef and beef wellington. I had the sunset haven for drinks and charred lemon tart was sublime! Very nice looking restaurant as well. Would love to come again!”

  “It was my third visit to this restaurant last week and they continue to impress with their food and service. We tried 3 mocktails - Autumn Orchard, Passionfruit Dream, Mojito and all were pretty good. I'm not a fan of bone marrow or squid generally, but my guests loved both these starters. The mains are the REAL stars of this place (although the Chicken Roast was just ok) - the Beef Wellington is SUPERB, and the newest addition to the menu, the Beef Fillet is EXQUISITE. Paired with the peppercorn sauce, just these two dishes can make you the happiest person alive. I was a little less impressed by the tiramisu and coconut gelato, but the special chai helped top off a delightful dinner. The bill wasn't small, but then their two best dishes deserve their price tag. The service is immaculate - from the welcome to the farewell, they're a friendly bunch who take care of you. Plus, when I just mentioned lightly that the gelato was not up to par, they immediately knocked it off the bill, while I protested that I didn't need them to do that! The one thing they should really look to improve is the ambience. If they give it a bit of a glow up, this place would really feel like a special night out. As it stands, I'm definitely going back for those two life-altering mains!”

  “Absolutely excellent experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, easily one of the best, if not the best Beef Wellingtons I’ve had. What made it even more special was that it was Halal, which is not something you come across often at this level of quality. The service was just as impressive. The team were attentive, welcoming, and genuinely added to the overall experience. The mocktails were also a highlight, well-balanced, refreshing, and clearly crafted with care. The restaurant itself was spotless. Everything was very clean and well maintained, including the toilets, which is always a good indicator of overall standards. Great location as well, making it an easy and convenient place to visit. Highly recommend, I’ll definitely be coming back.”

  “Was really excited to come back to the great chase and as such saved coming back for a special occassion. Unfortunately, the place didnt live upto my memory of it having visited some years previously when they were still situated in their old location. I was quite disappointed at almost every course including their mocktails. We tried their mojito which was quite alright as well as their passion fruit drink which left alot to be desired. For starters we tried their lamb bon bons which were almost bereft of all flavour whatsoever. At this point I was almost welcoming a well seasoned dish and they fell short even in this. We also tried their chicken dumpling things which weren't too bad. For mains we tried their fillet of beef dish which in all fairness was actually pretty decent - i tried the beef wellington and was eyeing up my partners plate in envy. Sad to say the dish lacked seasoning and the sauces lacked depth and were almost bisto esque. At this point we were debating whether to cut our losses and leave dessert but thought against it and ordered their burnt lemon tart with a cup of karak chai. Im not sure how they managed it but even this was a complete let down. All in all, for just shy of £200 for 2 people this entire meal was a complete let down. My instinct was that they were appealing for the masses and sacrificing flavour.”
