Customer Review Summary

Patatas bravas is the dish reviewers raise most, praised as excellent and tasty, with a good kick of garlic from the aioli. Close behind are the sangria, the ceviche, tender octopus, and both ham and vegetable croquettes. Others single out the brochetas de secreto ibérico, the chorizo, the tomatoes, and the tortilla de patatas. A vegan diner picked the mushroom dish as a favourite, though wished for more than three vegan options. Service is described as friendly, and a solo diner noted food and the bill arriving quickly. Not everyone is convinced. One reviewer found the pan con tomate lacking flavour, with no taste of garlic or olive oil, and felt several dishes were bland and under-seasoned. Another called the food good but not great and said servers were kind but slow to return, while also criticising stale air and a lack of airflow on a mild day. The crema catalana is singled out as a satisfying finish to the meal.

“This is the jewel in the crown at Excel. Fabulous authentic Spanish tapas, great service, nice vibe. Everything I didn't expect from a restaurant right outside a huge conference venue! Bravo. And the crema catalana for £3 was the best 'taste of dessert' to finish on. Apparetly the chocolate fondant was great too.”

“The atmosphere is really lovely but the quality of the food is average. Pan con tomate isnt what I expected, the grated tomato lacked flavour and depth, I couldnt taste the garlic, no sign of olive oil and no seasoning. The mushroom dish seemed to be on the small side compared to pictures ive seen online, didnt do much for me. On the plus side the tortilla de patatas was nice however all dishes lacked seasoning in my opinion. Bit bland. They were fully booked so perhaps the overwhelm got the better of the chefs. The highlight for me was the olives and the lovely atmosphere. Also the staff are attentive and accomodating.”

“Our first time here, but definitely not our last!Had a really great selection of Tapas at around £30 each, and that included drinks.”

“I was near ExCeL London and just wanted a quick meal, so I didn’t have high expectations. However, I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the food especially the tomatoes. Every dish we ordered was excellent, and I enjoyed every single bite. In fact, it was even better than many of the tapas restaurants I’ve been to in central London. If this restaurant were closer to where I live, I’d definitely visit much more often. Highly recommended!”

“Food and service were great - I was on my own so wanted something quick - they delivered. Food came out quickly and I didn't have to wait forever for the bill either! The Brochetas de Secreto Ibérico and chorizo were probably the highlights for me, and the sangria of course!”
