Quick info
About Din Tai Fung Canary Wharf
Din Tai Fung Canary Wharf is a Taiwanese restaurant in London, at Unit CR32. The brand started in Taiwan in 1972 as a cooking oil retail business and now specialises in Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings, so the dumpling menu is where a first order usually begins here, with a pork version among the choices. Mushroom and truffle baos offer a steamed bun option for the table, and spicy pork wontons give a second dumpling-style dish to share. Ordering runs through a self-service QR code, which lets diners add more dishes as the meal goes on. Reservations are taken.

Customer Review Summary
Xiao long bao lead the praise, with reviewers describing juicy, hot soup dumplings and a pork version served alongside chilli crab. Close behind are the mushroom and truffle bao, which two diners single out, plus the spicy pork wontons and cucumber in spicy sauce. Others name the dynamite prawns, pork buns and boba milk tea. Service draws steady credit, with servers described as warm, friendly and attentive, and food arriving quickly even when the place was buzzing. The criticism is specific. One reviewer found the tan tan noodles lacking flavour, the pork chop fried rice short on salt and the shrimp pancake a bit too oily. A halal or pork-free diner found few options because even many seafood dishes contain pork. Another called the dim sum middle of the road and said they had found better for less. One party found the tables a bit small for managing several dishes, while another liked the QR code ordering for continuously adding more rounds.

“Amazing. Fresh, crisp ingredients make up a delicious meal. The service is wonderful, so is the decor and the food. My partner, who is from Taiwan, really felt at home here - need I say more? The food comes out super quick and the service is ultra fast so it's even good for a quick bite. 100% recommend a visit.”

“Really nice atmosphere and good service overall. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the staff were attentive and welcoming. The food itself was decent, but I’d probably give it around a 6/10 overall. The standout for me was the dynamite prawns, which I really enjoyed. One thing worth knowing before visiting is that the menu is very limited if you eat halal or don’t eat pork. I was surprised to find that even many of the seafood dishes have pork incorporated into them, which leaves very few suitable options. It would be great to see more dishes offered without pork, particularly some of the seafood options. Overall, a nice place in terms of service and atmosphere, but the limited menu options would make me think twice about returning.”

“Amazing experience at the Canary Wharf Din Tai Fung! The soup dumplings were top tier and you definitely have to get the spicy pork wontons. The place was buzzing, but the service was still incredibly fast and attentive. Huge thanks to our server, Luis, who was brilliant and made sure we had everything we needed. They also had some great premium non-alcoholic drink options to pair with the food, which was a really nice touch. Worth the hype, easily a 5/5!”
