About Stein's Berlin
Stein's Berlin is a German restaurant at 51 Exhibition Rd in London, set up in the style of a bierkeller with bench seating and tables. The menu runs to 49 dishes, including Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb mit Kartoffelsalat and Obatzda mit Brezel, with a vegan bratwurst for those who want a meat-free plate. Drinks centre on a German beer and wine selection, so the glass matches the food. Seating is also available at the bar. At the back, a terrace looks onto a garden, and the venue hosts cultural events.

Customer Review Summary
Freshly baked pretzels draw the most praise, with one reviewer calling theirs the best they have had, soft and not too salty, even compared with Munich. Sausages come close behind, with the Thuringer bratwurst and currywurst singled out, along with thinly sliced potatoes with bacon bits, a platter for two, and a chicken schnitzel with tangy potato salad. The back terrace and its garden are repeatedly called lovely and peaceful, and two reviewers suggest asking for a table there. Beers and service are mostly called good, though one found service slow on a bank holiday weekend. Complaints are specific. The curry sauce struck two reviewers as too tangy or vinegary, a vegan diner was disappointed by the two vegan sausages, and others find the bench seating too close together and the room loud. One reviewer describes dirty toilets, no pretzels on a Saturday night, and being asked to move inside from the terrace right after ordering desserts.

“Food was ok, tasty cordon bleau bit nothing special, i hve had better and cheaper... service felt very rushed and meh.. we were asked to leave the terrace at 8.45pm and move inside right after we ordered deserts, this was really odd.. .. On a Saturday night they didnt have any pretzels, apparently its their best selling item? Toilets were dirty and unkept.. Left with no intention of going back, unfortunately. The terrace is pleasant though.”

“Good and service good. Bench seats and tables plus poor acoustics means you can't hear yourself speak. Not an intimate quiet restaurant, but great if you want a loud bierkeller atmosphere.”

“The freshly baked pretzels are so moorish. Order the chicken schnitzel - it comes with a deliciously tangy potato salad. Ask for a table on the outdoor terrace if possible.”

“German themed restaurant with lovely terrace out the back and friendly staff. Germany is not known for it's cuisine, but they do classics very well.”
