About Maroush
Maroush is a Lebanese restaurant in London, at 38 Beauchamp Pl, spread across three floors and serving mezze and grills until the early hours. The kitchen cooks Lebanese food, with shawarma ordered as a wrap or as a plate, in chicken or beef. Lamb shank with rice and a mixed grill cover the heavier end of the menu, and bread comes on the side. The restaurant is open daily, so late-night meals are possible on any day of the week. Maroush is part of a chain.

Customer Review Summary
Shawarma is what reviewers raise most, and opinions split on it. One calls the beef shawarma flavorful and fresh at 4 a.m., another says the chicken was well seasoned, while others find the chicken dry, rescued by the garlic sauce, or call a shawarma bland with zero flavour. Close behind, the lamb shank draws praise as tender and a good portion, and the charcoal-grilled kebab is described as smoky. Halloumi and tabbouleh get nods, but the mixed grill is called dry and small. Portions and cost recur as complaints, with one reviewer noting a surcharge on the open mixed shawarma and two noting that chilli and garlic sauces are now charged for after being complimentary. Service accounts conflict. One describes a gracious team, while another waited 30 minutes in an empty room. A third was served shawarma plates instead of the wraps ordered, was charged for them, and only had the bill revised after persisting. One reviewer reports disgusting toilets.

“Has fine dining atmosphere, we seated upstairs and they had air conditioning. Food was good, but you get what you pay for based on the location and the dine in cost. Would be nice if there was beef option as some of our guests didn’t prefer to eat lamb. Chicken shawarma was well seasoned. Lamb shank was good portion. The mixed grill was dry, had small portion and not that worth it. Bread was served on the side”

“Maroush is a true London favorite, offering exceptional cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, while the service is gracious and attentive. Always a delightful experience and a restaurant we return to with great pleasure!”

“The food was awful, very disappointing and very stingy with the portions. Everything seemed as if it was pre-made and warmed up, the meat was chewy and dry, mezze was clearly old. Service was very bad, we weren’t served for 30 min even though the place was empty. We struggled to even get the staff’s attention. Toilets were disgusting and smelt horrible. The couch seats gave my friends and I back aches. Whole experience was an expensive rip off. Please do not visit this restaurant unless you want to be incredibly dissatisfied. Worst Lebanese food I have had in London. Go anywhere else.”

“One of the best late-night food spots if you're hungry at 4 a.m.! The beef shawarma is absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and very satisfying. If you're craving a great meal after a night out or during the early hours of the morning, this place is definitely worth a visit.”

“The lady who took our order didn’t understand it properly. We kept waiting for one of our dishes, and when we finally asked about it, we were told it hadn’t even been prepared and she refused to accept that I even ordered. Secondly, we ordered shawarma wraps but were served shawarma plates instead. We assumed their shawarmas are like that. Before ordering, we had specifically asked the staff to explain the difference between the two, so this was quite disappointing. We were also charged for the incorrect order. When we pointed it out, the staff member refused to acknowledge the mistake and repeatedly insisted that we had ordered the plate. Only after we persisted was the bill revised. Overall, the staff could benefit from better communication in English, especially considering the restaurant is located in such a central area. The ambience was average, and the staff was standing in a group together near our table, which made our conversations feel a bit uncomfortable.”
