Customer Review Summary

Service is the most frequent draw at Refuel, with reviewers calling the staff lovely, friendly and never over attentive, and one describing a server and manager who kept water glasses full. Food comes next. Diners name the pork belly, salmon, oxtail fritters, braised beef with mash, venison and the pea soup poured at the table, while the dark chocolate mousse is called the best part of one meal. Cocktails and drinks also draw praise, including a Côte du Rhône and a nine regions cocktail menu one reviewer enjoyed with a visiting parent. Several mention afternoon tea, with beautiful decor and a calm, stylish setting in busy Soho. The criticisms are small: one reviewer found the vol-au-vent a bit dry and the beetroot crisps only okay, and another notes the bar snacks carry a Soho premium. Reviewers also mention spotless bathrooms and a small ice cream and caramel chocolate truffle handed out at the end of a meal.

“We had a great afternoon tea experience here! The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the teas we had as well as the all the various savory and sweet treats. It was one of the highlights of our visit to London!”

“Interesting menu with some unique vegan dishes. The beetroot dusted crisps were okay- the earthy, sweet beetroot dust added a special twist. The pea soup was delicious though and the waiter puts on a bit of a show and pours it into the bowl in front of you. The dark chocolate mousse was by far the best part of the entire meal. A gold dusted solid chocolate exterior reveals a soft chocolate mousse with a delicious molten chocolate centre. Only criticism is that the vol-au-vent was a bit dry. Beautiful decor and excellent service with friendly waiters.”

“We had such a great experience here. Arley, our server, was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout. He and the manager made sure we were always looked after, our water glasses were never empty. The food was amazing and honestly feels very underrated. You can really taste the quality of the produce. The pork belly was absolutely delicious, and my friend’s salmon was just as good, safe to say there were no crumbs left! To top it off, we were given some lovely little treats at the end. The mini ice cream (especially the chocolate) was rich and decadent, and the caramel chocolate truffle was on another level. And they had live music! We’ll definitely be back.”
