  “Went to Meli Melo for lunch as a family yesterday. My husband booked a table for 3pm as that’s when they open. Got there shortly after 3, seated straight away by a very friendly waitress. Restaurant was completely empty for the 1.5-2hours that we were there for. Food was absolutely delicious, service was great. But it was ridiculously hot in there, and there were flies constantly flying around and we had to keep batting them away from our food so this was really annoying throughout our meal. After an hour of struggling with the heat in the restaurant, we asked for the air con to be turned on, we were told it’s faulty and hadn’t been working for 3 days. Considering it was 30degrees that day, we really should have been advised on the phone when we called to book that the air con wasn’t working, because it was really really hot in the restaurant and my kids were very uncomfortable. There were a couple of fans but they were pretty rubbish, could barely feel a thing despite sitting right beside them. We spent £80 on two adult meals and a kids meal, food was delicious but the lack of air con ruined it. They could have at least given us some free cool drinks or ice cream or something to make up for it. Having said that, when I went here for the first time (two years ago) it was 10/10.”

  “Quran playing in the background when we walked in was nice. Nice and calm atmosphere. The food tasted delicious, i had the chicken roast. Anyone who knows me knows I don't eat much meat, but I polished my plate 😋”

  “Had a great experience at Meli Melo. It had been recommended to me by quite a few people and it didn’t disappoint. I had the lamb shank roast (which is halal) and it was absolutely amazing. The meat literally fell off the bone and all the sides that came with it were delicious. For dessert I had their take on a crumble and that was very very clever and very tasty. The value for money was insane, prices were really good and I was expecting a lot higher. To top it off, there was a lovely vibe with Quraan and Arabic poetry playing in the background. Will definitely come back. Also want to shoutout Bairum, his service was absolutely excellent and his knowledge of the menu was spot on. Will definitely be coming back!”

  “This restaurant presents an appealing ambiance, and I can envision a vibrant atmosphere during peak hours. I had intended to order a specific dish that had been widely promoted across social media platforms and was also featured on the online menu. However, upon receiving the physical menu, this particular item was absent. The server explained that the chef responsible for this dish was not on duty, rendering it unavailable. I expressed my concern regarding this discrepancy. Following a discussion with the chef on duty, the dish was subsequently prepared. It perfectly matched its online depiction and was enjoyable, I would certainly order it again. This dish was, unequivocally, the highlight of my meal. Additionally, I sampled the mac and Bolognese cheese, which was pleasant, and the bone marrow dish. The bone marrow, in my opinion, lacked the expected depth of flavor. Typically, bone marrow enhances a dish, but in this instance, it was merely satisfactory. The strawberry daiquiri was exceptionally well prepared, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and refreshment. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was positive, and I would consider returning should I be in the vicinity.”

  “I was very surprised with the flavour and quality of food, amazing customer service felt like I was fine dinning. We ordered 2 starters - Le Mac & Cheese 10/10 & the Bone Marrow 7/10 the mustard taste was over powering the taste of the bone marrow sourdough bread was divine. Mains - Sirloin Roast 10/10 I was abit hesitant as the meat can be dry but it was delicious and the gravy was on point. Dessert - Almost Tiramisu 10/10 the brownie surprises you and goes well. Drinks - Strawberry Daquiry 7/10 ok had abit of an apple cider after taste dont know what it was. Will be returning again to try other dishes as I'm very intrigued. Definitely would recommend this place, has a very warm atmosphere suitable for all celebration lunch or dinner. Thank you!”

  “We went for the iftar dinner. Each of the courses were exquisite and were definitely a welcome treat. They were also presented beautifully and had good portion sizes. The staff were friendly, attentive and had fantastic service despite the busy iftar crowd. Everything was organised so well. I will definitely be going again to try some of the other items on their menu.”

  “We had the Iftar set menu, really nice experience to try a bit of everything. My favourite was the slider burger (would’ve been nicer if they gave more than one as it’s very small). The soup was my least favourites as well as the cheese part of the course. The roast could’ve had a lot more gravy as it was really lacking it. The dessert was nice though. It’s great they have a prayer space. Overall nice experience.”

  “We visited today for the iftar tasting menu with five courses and what a delightful experience it was. We booked in advance and I am glad we did as it was fully booked. We were greeted with dates and a sweet starter to break fast and there is a spacious prayer room in the basement to perform prayers. Mashallah tabarakAllah, for that alone I pray this establishment continues to see success. The food itself was creative, surprising,and full of flavour. The lentil soup as a cappacuino shot was well received, and the lamb shank croquette, wagyu burger, and the roast were standouts. The cheddar and Quince dish was flavoursome, but I do feel it could be replaced with a maybe more out of the box dish. It is a pleasant palate cleanser, but maybe something more crisp and refreshing could work. The lattes were very good and so we do look forward to visiting again for brunches and dinners. The staff were incredibly attentive, welcoming, and friendly - it was quite clear that the full team enjoys the work and what they do and that reflected well in both the quality of service and the operational excellence they displayed. We would recommend this place many times over.”

  “We chose **Meli-Melo in Brick Lane** to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, stylish, and perfect for a special occasion. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was honestly **10/10**. We started with beautifully presented drinks — fresh, vibrant mocktails packed with flavour, including a refreshing mint and citrus drink and a rich strawberry-based mocktail that tasted as good as it looked. Perfect way to start the meal. For food, everything was spot on. One of the highlights was the **loaded platter**, generously topped with sauces and fresh ingredients — indulgent, full of flavour, and great for sharing. We also had a comforting, rich **crispy potato-style dish topped with finely grated cheese**, which was incredibly moreish. The mains were outstanding. The **roast-style meat dishes** were cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and full of depth, served with beautifully roasted potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and rich gravy. Presentation was elegant, and every element on the plate worked perfectly together. Overall, the quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the atmosphere made it a memorable evening. My wife absolutely loved it, which says everything. If you’re looking for a place in Brick Lane for a celebration or just an exceptional meal, **Meli-Melo is a must**. Highly recommended.”

  “We ordered a set menu consisting of lamb birria style tacos, beef sirloin as man and chocolate fondant as dessert. Lamb taco was nice but didn’t get the birria taste from it, tasty nonetheless. The mains, absolutely delicious! The portion size was a little small for my liking but everything worked so well together, the beef and all the sides, would have liked a bigger size for the beef, it was thin and not what you expect from sirloin cut meat but again, very tasty. Dessert was good, light one to finish off the meal. We asked for extra gravy and a few more scoops of ice cream and they accommodated, which was nice of them and service was great. Plenty of drinks options, the one in the image is a mojito (best seller) but the best one was the daiquiri, give it a go if you’re into non-alcoholic mocktails.”
